     John Martens was born on 16 February 1881 at The Netherlands.1,2 He married Truus Schagen.1 John Martens died on 9 April 1966 at 75 North 14th Street, Haledon, Passaic County, NJ.1 He was buried on 12 April 1966 in Rosedale Cemetery in Orange.1

Their contact in Holland is their mother an unknown person , Westergracht 83, Haarlem. She is going to her husband C. Hermeling in Paterson, NJ. He to his brother-in-law (also C. Hermeling.)3,1 The 1920 census lists John Marten and Thresa at 39 Belle Ave (1st Ward) at Paterson City, Passaic County, NJ, with their son Jochan (4 + 7 mo, b. NJ.)4 John Martens lived at Paterson, Passaic County, NJ, before moving to Haledon.1
