     The 1860 census listed John N Hopper in Garret and Jane Bush's household at Washington Township, Bergen County, NJ.7 John N Hopper made a will on 15 November 1860. He was John N. Hopper of Washington Township. The will provides for a tombstone for him like that of his first wife; $1000 to wife Catherine; to George Hartwick the remainder of farm bought from John Flierboam and wife where he now lives; to Margaret Hopper wife of John A Ackerman a house and lot in Paterson; To John Hopper Hartwick, son of George, $1500, gold watch, chain, bureau and clothing; to sister Elizabeth, wife of Henry A Ackerman $500; the residue to his two brothers Jacob N and Andrew.8,9
