     Nelson Smith Hopper was born on 28 January 1886.¹ He was baptized on 4 June 1887 at Saddle River, Bergen County, NJ, (DRC.)¹

     Nicasie Hopper was born on 16 January 1795.² He was baptized on 15 February 1795 at Bergen County, NJ, (Paramus DRC.)² He married Wybrug Voorhies.¹

     Nicausey Hopper was born on 28 December 1760.¹ He was baptized on 25 January 1761 at Bergen County, NJ, (Paramus DRC.)^3,4 He married Marytje Zabriskie, daughter of Jacob J Zabriskie and Jannetje Brevoort, on 23 November 1782.⁵ Nicausey Hopper died on 12 June 1836 aged 71.5.15.^1,6 He was buried in Old Stone Church (DRC) Churchyard in Upper Saddle River.⁷

     Nicausey and Jacob were twins.² Nicausey Hopper and Marytje lived in the sandstone Hopper-Lack house above present day Hopper Farm Road.⁸
     Nicausey had extensive land holdings going from Old Stone Church Rd up to the NY state line.
     In July 1812, Marytje and Nicausey helped found the Dutch Reformed Church at Saddle River, before that time it had been part of the Paramus Reformed Church. After 1812 they started to keep their own records.³ Name variation: Niklaas Hopper.³

     Nicholas G Hopper was born on 15 April 1852.² He married Hannah Sophia Hopper, daughter of John Eckerson Hopper and Elizabeth Terhune.^1,2 Nicholas G Hopper died on 2 April 1900.²

     He is probably the great-grandson of Nicausey Hopper, via Garret J. (x Maria Ackerman), Nicholas G. (x Wybie Van Voorhees), and Garret N (x Anna Zabriskie.)

     Paulus Hoppe was from Grootekil acc. to his marriage certificate.³ He married Marritje Quackenbush, daughter of Reynier Quackenbush and Claesje Jacobse Stille, on 30 May 1716 at New York City (DRC.)^4,5,6 (Banns on 11 May 1716. He was Paulus Hoppe, jm from Grootekil; she Marytje Quakkenbosch, jd from the Bouwery.)³

     Name variation: Paul Hoppe.⁴

     Paulus Hoppe was baptized on 18 August 1728 at New York City (DRC.)^1,3 He married Maria House, daughter of Ryndert House and Anna Elizabeth Neythaber, on 18 December 1749 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC) (banns.)^2,4

     Paulus Hoppe and Maria had four more children, all b. Clarkstown:

     Paulus Hopper was born on 14 September 1748.¹ He was baptized on 9 October 1748 at Tappan, NY, (DRC.)² He married Hester Dobbs.^1,3

     Paulus Hopper had two children, both bp. Clarkstown:
1. Matthie (b. 7 Nov 1772, bp. 21 Nov 1772; Clarkstown p.68, #1260)
2. John (b. 26 Jul 1782, bp. 9 Feb 1783; no sp. listed; Clarkstown p.65, #1004)

     Peter A Hopper was born on 13 October 1749.¹ He married Elizabeth Van Horn, daughter of Cornelis Van Horn and Elizabeth Van Orden.^1,2 Peter A Hopper died in February 1816 aged 67.4.3.^1,3 He was buried in First DRC Churchyard in Totowa, later moved to Sandy Hill Cemetery, Paterson.³

     Peter A Hopper and Elizabeth had two more children:

     Peter G Hopper was born in 1841.³ He married Rachel Ann Terhune, daughter of James Terhune and Sarah Terwilliger, in 1863.³ Peter G Hopper died in 1918.³

     Peter G Hopper was named as executor in Peter H Hopper's will dated 9 February 1878.⁴

     Peter H Hopper was born on 2 November 1805.⁴ He was baptized on 1 December 1805 at Bergen County, NJ, (Paramus DRC.)¹ He married Jannetje Demarest, daughter of Samuel C Demarest and Martha Van Voorhees.² Peter H Hopper died on 3 March 1879.^2,4 He was buried in Hopper Family Burying Ground in Glen Rock.⁵

     Peter H Hopper made a will on 9 February 1878. It was proved 20 Mar 1879, and mentions his wife Jane, and his nephew Peter C. Hopper, Helen wife of George J. Hopper; his sisters Ann, and Caroline Hopper (both of Small Lots, Saddle River Twp.); the children of his brother Abraham Hopper (Henry A. Hopper of Small Lots, Jane Vreeland, wife of Edo Vreeland of Passaic Co.); children of his brother Garret Hopper, dec'd: John J. Hopper of Riverside, Paterson, Sophia Sturr wife of Isaac Sturr, of Elmer, Salem Co., NJ, Peter G. Hopper of Ridgewood, Elizabeth Bogert, wife of Albert Bogert of Small Lots; sister Maria Alyea (wid.) of Hawthorne, Passaic Co; his friend Nicholas D. Hopper (son of George J. Hopper); after wife's death to sell land except 1/2 acre burial ground, now in possession of Garret J. Hopper. Exr: wife and nephews Peter G. Hopper, John G Hopper, and Henry A. Hopper.⁶

     NOTE: Bergen Families Hopper H-Z File has John G Hopper as son of Peter H Hopper and Jannetje Demarest, daughter of Samuel and Martha Van Voorhees. However, the Jannetje, who died in 1883 in Ridgewood, leaves only nieces and nephews; making it unlikely that John is her son. Peter's nephews are probably (but not proven) the other executors of Peter's probate. Hopper Family (Ree Hopper) states that John G. Hopper is a son of Garret H. Hopper, but living with Peter in 1850.⁶

     Peter H Hopper was born on 2 February 1745.¹ He married Annetje Doremus, daughter of Hessel Doremus and Geesje Westervelt.^1,2 Peter H Hopper died on 28 August 1818 aged 73.6.26.³ He was buried in Hopper Family Burying Ground in Glen Rock.³

     Peter H Hopper was named as executor in Hessel Doremus's will dated 6 March 1796.^4,5

     Peter J Hopper was born on 25 May 1805.¹ He was baptized on 23 June 1805 at Paramus, NJ, (no sponsors listed.)^1,3 He married Hannah Eccerson, daughter of Jan Eckerson and Charity Johnson, on 20 March 1824 at Upper Saddle River, NJ, (DRC.)^1,4 Peter J Hopper died on 28 September 1831 aged 26.4.3.^1,2

     Peter J Hopper lived with Hannah's parents, the old Dutch sandstone house on Chestnut Ridge Rd just north of Weiss Rd.¹

     Peter Samuel Hopper was born on 6 July 1860.¹ He married Garetta Van Blarcom.¹

     Petrus Hopper was born on 15 July 1758.¹ He was baptized on 30 July 1758 at Clarkstown, NY, (DRC.)¹ He married Delilah Smith.²

     Petrus Hopper and Delilah had three more children, all bp. 17 Feb 1798 in the Waldwick Methodist Church:

3. Charity (b. 26 Jun 1795).³

     Polly Hopper was born in 1817.¹ She (1) married Thomas Ackerman Blauvelt, son of Johannes Jos. Blauvelt and Rachel Van Orden, on 16 June 1835.^3,4 She (2) married Abraham Blauvelt Haring, son of Teunis Haring and Elizabeth Perry, on 3 March 1842 at Passaic County, NY.⁵ Polly Hopper died in 1855.¹

     Father's name was Andrew C. Hopper in baptismal record.^3,6,2 Married name: Blauvelt.

     Rachel Hopper was baptized on 21 October 1759 at Bergen County, NJ, (Paramus DRC.)⁴ She married Albert Van Voorhees on 28 July 1778 at Acquackanonck, NJ, (DRC.)^1,3,5

     Rachel Hopper was born on 11 June 1825 at Montvale, NJ.^2,3 She (1) married John A Jersey.^1,2 Rachel Hopper (2) married Thomas Eckerson, son of Abraham T Eckerson and Hannah Jersey, on 15 January 1882.^4,2 Rachel Hopper died on 31 October 1885 at Hillsdale, NJ.⁴

     John A Jersey and Rachel lived in 1878 at Hillsdale, NJ.⁵
