M, b. 1863, d. 1885
| Father | William S Craig b. 1847, d. 1877 |
| Mother | Mary Sayre b. 1853, d. 1939 |
Charles H Craig was born in 1863. He died in 1885. He was buried on 9 November 1885 in Orange.
At the age of 15, Charles signed on as midshipman on a merchant sailing vessel the year after his father died. The sailing vessel was a twenty-seven year old bark, named 'Rocket'. He wrote three journals about his various trips around the world.
His first trip started in New York Harbor and Bermuda before going around the 'horn' of South America. From there it went to Hobert Town, Tasmania, New Castle in New South Wales, Australia. His ship continued on to Saigon, Vietnam, Cochin, China and Cambodia.
As a midshipman, he was taught longitude, latitude and flag signals. Charles continued his life as a sailor for six years, until he wrote his sister to make arrangements for him to come home. He died a year after his return.
