     Abraham H Hopper was born on 13 April 1749 at Hackensack, NJ.¹ He married Antje Zabriskie, daughter of Jacob Zabriskie and Aaltje Terhune, on 21 August 1766.^1,3,2 Abraham H Hopper died on 6 May 1804 at Paramus, NJ, aged 51?.11.24.^1,2,4 He was buried in Paramus DRC Churchyard.²

     Abraham H Hopper had four more children, all bp. Paramus:
1. Hendrik (bp. 5 Jul 1767; Paramus p.56; d.y.)
2. Jacob (bp. 16 Aug 1772; Paramus p.64; d.y.)
3. Wyntje (bp. 10 Jul 1774; Paramus p.139; d.y.)
4. Antje (bp. 16 Jun 1776; Paramus p.10; not named in father's will).² He made a will on 26 January 1804. It was proved 30 Jun 1804. He was Abraham Hopper (Hoppe), of Franklin Twsp., Bergen Co. Names sons Henry Hopper (eldest), Jacob Hopper, John Hopper, and Andrew; grandson Abraham Van Derbeck (under 21, son of daughter Aaltye Van Derbeck, dec'd, late wife of John Van Derbeck); the heirs (under 21) of daughter Wyntie Zabriskie (now wife of Jacob J. Zabriskie). Executors: sons Henry and Jacob Hopper, and brother-in-law Albert Zabriskie. Witnesses: Peter Westervelt, Abraham Westervelt, and Abraham A. Quackinbush.⁵
     The familyfiles have two death dates for him: April 6, 1801 and May 6, 1804, both at age 51.11.24

     The Hopper File lists him as poss. son of Gerrit J Hopper and Elizabeth Ackerman; BC-Families has him as son of Garrit A. Hopper and Betsey, with no connectig information. Konight does not list him at all. It seems likely that the initial in BC-Families is in error.^1,2,3

     Andries Hopper was born in 1625 at The Netherlands.² He married Geertje Hendricks, daughter of Hendrik Rycken and Hendrickje Van Reemst.^2,3 Andries Hopper died in 1659 at New Amsterdam.²

     Andries was in New Netherland before 1651. He was Commissary of Wares officer for the Dutch West Indies Company. In 1655 he was transferred to the Dutch settlement north of the Delaware River, where he was Secretary and Attorney General of that colony.^1,4
     5 Mar 1659: Andr. Hoppe left five children. Geertje Hendricks is here mentioned as the widow of Andrees De Haal (several other times Hoppe).
     7 May 1660: The children of Geertje Hendricks and Andrees Hoppe, dec'd, are Catrina, Wilhelmus, Hendrick, Matthys and Adolf Hoppe. Gives them 200 guilders each.
