     A James J. Demarest (63, b. NJ) is in the 1850 census in Harrington Twp with Ann Demarest (62, b. NJ), Catherine Ann Demarest (5, b. NJ), and Catherine Eckerson (64, b. NJ). He is also in the 1855 census. No death for a James (J) Demarest in Harrington Township. Possibly he is the same as James J Demarest, who appears in several notes: as surity for William Van Blarcom, Executor for Cornelius Kent, and Administrator for Sarah Fox; howver, even these three could be different people, as the events happen in different townships.2,3,1
