     Jacob R Terhune was born on 16 August 1810.1 He was baptized on 28 October 1810 at Bergen County, NJ, (Paramus DRC.)1 He (1) married Margery Stansfield circa 1830 at New Jersey.1 Jacob R Terhune (2) married Sarah Blauvelt Spear, daughter of Henry Spear Jr. and Martha Blauvelt, on 24 February 1849 at Paterson, Passaic County, NJ, (Prospect M.E. Church.)1 Jacob R Terhune died on 29 March 1873 at Paterson, Passaic County, NJ.1 He was buried circa 31 March 1873 in United Methodist Cemetery in Midland Park.1

     James J Terhune MD was born on 5 February 1844.1,2 He (1) married Adeline Lozier (1842–1868.)2 He (2) married Harriet Ellen Blake (1852–1916.)2 He died on 30 April 1908 at Brooklyn.3,4,1,2 He was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack, Plot 11-A.1
     James J Terhune MD was a Corp. in Co. E, 3rd NJ Vol. Cav. in the Civil War. He was a allopathic physician; he attended State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine, Brooklyn: Long Island Coll. Hosp., 1875, (G.)1,5,6 He made a will on 27 February 1908. It was proved in Jun 1908. It mentioned his wife Harriet E. Terhune, living at 169 Adelphi Street, Brooklyn, NY; his brother Samuel L. Terhune, living at 112 Washington Street, Mount Vernon, NY; his sister Catherine Dodez, living at 61 Downing Street, Brooklyn, NY; his sister Agnes Lozier, wife of Daniel C. Lozier, living at 607 Madison Street, Brooklyn, NY; his niece, Daisy Durkee, living at 61 Downing Street, Brooklyn, NY; and his nephew George Durkee, living at South Bend, Indiana; as wellas a number of other friends, and a number of other nieces and nephews.7,8 His parents were Abram I. Terhune and Mary Elizabeth Jackson.2 Name variation: James Jackson Terhune.2
