     The 1851 Census of Blissfield, NB lists William Green, age 35, farmer; wife Mary Jane, age 29 and children Nehemia and Phoebe age 10; Mary Ann, 8; John,6; George Arthur, 4 and Evaline, 1. The death certificate of John Green lists his father's birthplace as Bloomfield, NB. However, this could and probably is Blissfield.
     The 1861 census of Blissfield, NB lists William Green, farmer, age 47, a baptist; Mary Jane, wife 41; children Jeremiah, age 21; Ann, 18; John, 16; George, 13; Unice, 11; William, 8; Levi, 6, and James, 4. The 1861 agricultural Census of Blissfield lists the family as having 3 male and 2 female hands employed; 40 acres improved land; 160, unimproved; value of land $900, machinery, $40; 3 horses, 4 milk cows, 4 other cattle; 30 sheep, 2 swine, and 800 pounds of pork slaughtered.
     The 1871 census of Blissfield, NB shows William age 58, farmer of Irish descent and a F. W. Baptist; wife Mary J. age 52; children George, a laborer, 23; Eunice, 21; William, a laborer, 18; Levi, farmer age 19; and James 13. The same page shows son John 25 with wife Sarah and family and Nehemiah 30, and family.
     the 1880 Census of Ludlow, Maine (page 51) shows as living together William Green, age 26 (listed first), a farmer; George 32, a brother; another brother age 24, a laborer; James, brother, age 21, laborer; William, father, age 64, laborer; Jane W. Sutherland, niece, keeping house, and Phebe (Mitchell) Green, grandmother, age 84. (This entry helps to prove the family descendency.)1
