     Resolvert Stevens was born on 21 February 1767 (calculated.)2 He married Jannetje Van Orden, daughter of Andreas Van Orden and Jannetje Oblenis, in December 1787 at Tappan, NY, (DRC) (Resolveerd Stevense of New Hempstead and Jannetje Van Orden of New Hempstead.)3,4 Resolvert Stevens died on 21 October 1844 aged 77.8.0.2 He was buried in Martinus Hogenkamp Cemetery in New City.2

Peter and Nellie are born in NY, the rest in Holland.5 The 1920 census lists Charles Stienstra and Louise at 62 Schley Street (2nd Ward) at Garfield, Bergen County, NJ, with six children: Jessie (21), Burdie (20), Catherine (19), John (16), Peter (10), Nellie (10). The last two are born in NY, the rest in Holland.9 His parents were Jan Sjoukes Stienstra and Lutske Jolts Oostra. His father married (2) Jeltje Eeltjes Bakker.      Soon after his arrival Cornelius assumes the surname of Somerendyk which later became Wortendyke. Cornelius acquired a fine farm of 100 acres in the Greenwich district of NYC where he died.2 Cornelius lived in Bushwick, Williamsburgh and Greenwich district of New York.2
