     Thomas Eckerson, Jr. was a major in the Albany County Militia, Fifteenth Regiment in the Revolutionary War; his nephew Pieter was possibly Lieut. Colonel in the same regiment.3,4 Thomas Eckerson made a will on 24 April 1801. Letters Testementary were issued 7 Sep 1801. He lists his brother Tunis (with whom he lives); brother John; sister Egnes, wife of Henry Becker; nephew Thomas, son of brother Tunis; nephew Thomas, son of brother John; brother Tunis' wife Getny (Gertrude) and his daughter Stiney; Margaret Gray (no relation stated (but daughter of his sister Engeltje)). Executors: brothers Tunis and John of Middelburgh. Witnesses: Jacob Van Dyke, Peter Zielie Jr. and Storm A. Becker. Bondsmen: Abram Becker and Abram Becker, Jr.1,2,5
     It is possible (as there is no baptism for Thomas), that the baptism for Theunis Eckerson is in error, and should be for Thomas.6
