     The 1850 census lists Peter I Ackerman and Maria at Hackensack Township, NJ, with Elsey (24), Rachel (18), and John (11), and Elsje (83) Ackerman, all b. NJ; and Thomas Canada (46, b. NJ, labour); Jack Jones (33, b. NJ, B, labour), and Phebe Jones (8, b. NJ, B). Peter is 49, farmer, b. NJ; Mary is 39, b. NJ.⁴ The 1860 census lists Peter I Ackerman and Maria, with Elsie (34) and Rachel (26) Ackerman; John (24) and his wife Catherine (21) Ackerman, with Anna (7mo); Frank Blackledge (2mo); Elsje Ackerman (92, widow), all b. NJ. Also Betty Brown? (80, b. NJ, B, slave), Jack Winfield (40, b. NJ, B, laborer), and John Lockly? (45, b. Ireland, laborer.)³ The 1880 census lists Peter I Ackerman and Maria, with their granddaughters Annie and Mary B (20 and 15, b. NJ); their son-in-law and daughter Benjamin Franklin Blackledge and Rachel Blackledge (both 49, he b. NY, she NJ) and their son Frank E (20, b. NJ); Edward Sheppard (36, b. NJ, servant, farm laborer), Benjamin Cole (23, b. NJ, farm laborer), Rosa Brady (58, b. Ireland, servant), Mary Pickett (57, b. NJ, wid., servant), Samuel Pickett (20, b. NJ, farm laborer), and Francis Pickett (19, b. NJ, farm laborer.)⁸

     Peter I Ackerman died 22 Nov 1884 at E. Hackensack, NJ, leaving widow Maria and 3 daughters: Elsie Brinkerhoff (widow), Jane B Parke (widow) and Rachel Ackerman, and 2 grandchildren: Anna Ackerman and Mary B Ackerman.¹

     Peter J Ackerman was born in 1787.² He married Rachel Demarest, daughter of Jacobus Demarest and Marya Westervelt, on 20 August 1807.¹ Peter J Ackerman died in 1861.²

     His parents were Johannes A. Ackerman (son of Abraham J Ackerman and Lydia Demarest) and Elisabeth Dierman.²

     Peter P Ackerman was born on 30 August 1791.^2,1 He married Ellen Van Voorhis on 23 March 1823 at Saddle River, NJ, (DRC.)^2,3 Peter P Ackerman died on 6 March 1866.⁴ He was buried in Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood.⁴

     The 1850 census lists Peter P Ackerman and Ellen at Ho-Ho-Kus Township, Bergen County, NJ, with Henry (20, farmer), Hannah (17), Abram (14), Ralph (12), and Albert (10) Ackerman, all b. NJ; and John Sullivan (50, b. Ireland, laborer). Peter is 60, b. NJ, farmer; Elen is 46, b. NJ.⁵ The 1860 census lists Peter P Ackerman and Ellen, with Ralph Ackerman (19, b. NJ, mason); William McCarthy (24, b. Ireland, laborer); and in the same house, but a separate family James Blauvelt (62, b. NJ, farmer); Charity Blauvelt (49, b. NJ, wife); Mary E. Coe (20, b. NJ); Isaac Coe (17, b. NJ, painter); and Jane E. Blauvelt (6, b. NJ.)⁶

     Petrus Ackerman was born on 11 May 1756.^1,3 He was baptized on 30 May 1756.¹ He married Catherine Perry, daughter of Peter Perry and Elizabeth Blauvelt.⁴ Petrus Ackerman died on 21 March 1830.^1,3 He was buried in Paramus DRC Churchyard.¹

     Petrus Ackerman was baptized on 18 November 1733 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)¹ He married Elizabeth Patton on 3 November 1760 at Middletown, NJ.²

     Petrus J Ackerman was baptized on 26 June 1742 at Bergen County, NJ, (Paramus DRC.)¹ He married Maria P Bogert, daughter of Peter P Bogert and Rachel Van Horn.²

BC-Families (Newkirk) has Polly as daughter of Gelyn Ackerman and Annaetje Westervelt, married to Garret M Newkirk, son of Matthew Newkirk and Catelyntje Toers. Polly does not name any children after her parents.

     Priscilla Ackerman was born on 27 July 1848 at New Jersey.^1,3,4 She married Peter Stultz Bush, son of George C Bush and Catherine Jane Stultz, on 7 September 1871 at Pascack, NJ.^1,2 Priscilla Ackerman died on 17 February 1879.^1,2 She was buried in Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood.¹

     Rachel Ackerman was baptized on 25 November 1716 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)^1,4,2 She married Johannes Vanderhoef, son of Cornelius Vanderhof and Elizabeth Ackerman, on 4 July 1756 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC) (banns.)⁵

     Rachel Ackerman and Johannes had a son Cornelis, bp. 9 Sep 1759 in Hackensack DRC.⁶ Married name: Vanderhoef.

     Rachel Ackerman was born in 1831 at New Jersey.^2,3 She married Benjamin Franklin Blackledge, son of Benjamin Blackledge III and Ann White.² Rachel Ackerman died in 1911.^2,1

     The 1880 census listed Rachel Blackledge in Peter I and Maria Ackerman's household.⁴ Married name: Rachel Blackledge.¹

     Rachel Ackerman was born on 4 June 1803. She was baptized on 17 July 1803 at Acquackanonck, NJ, (DRC.)² She married Samuel Jacob Toers, son of Jacob Toers and Marytje Post, on 16 August 1822.³

     Rachel Ann Ackerman was born on 26 February 1825.² She married Daniel A Vreeland, son of Abraham I Vreeland and Lydia Romaine, on 22 December 1843.² Rachel Ann Ackerman died on 12 August 1906.² She was buried in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson, Sec 11; Lot 335.³

     Rachel Ann Ackerman made a will at Passaic County, NJ. (#14508 H P. Pr 121 E-2 Will 599.)⁴ Rachel Ann Ackerman lived in 1906 at 645 E 18th St at Paterson, NJ.⁵ Married name: Vreeland.

     Rachel Ann Ackerman was born on 10 April 1829.^1,2 She married Garret J Hopper, son of Jacob N Hopper and Catherine Hopper, on 26 August 1846.^1,2 Rachel Ann Ackerman died in 1922.^1,2 She was buried in Old Stone Church (DRC) Churchyard in Upper Saddle River.¹
