     George Demarest was born in 1925 at New Jersey.¹ He married Elizabeth.^2,3 He died on 11 February 2004 at Hillsdale, NJ.² He was buried in Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood.²

     George Washington Demarest was born on 10 February 1856 at Newton, Sussex County, NJ, (father James Demarest, mother Catharine Goetschius (FamSearch has Gontschuies.)^2,3,1) He married Margaretta De Wolf.¹ George Washington Demarest died in 1916.¹

     Gerred Demarest was born on 26 March 1751.^1,2 He was baptized on 31 March 1751 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)² He married Martyntje Blauvelt, daughter of Abraham Blauvelt and Aaltjen Kuyper, on 19 May 1774 at Tappan, NY, (Irregular RC.)^3,4 (Banns on 24 April 1774.)⁴ Gerred Demarest died on 1 August 1819.⁵

     Gerret Demarest was born on 14 October 1790.¹ He was baptized on 21 October 1790 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)¹ He died on 8 September 1805.²

     Gerrit Demarest was baptized on 13 February 1757 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Samuel Lydecker and Cornelia Lydecker, his sister.)^1,2 He married Angenietje Durie, daughter of David Durie and Margaret Van Horn.^3,4 Gerrit Demarest died on 24 October 1833.⁴

     Gerrit J Demarest was born on 20 July 1725 at Tappan, Rockland County, NY.^1,2,4 He was baptized on 3 August 1725 at Tappan, NY, (DRC) (sp. Cosyn Haringh and Marytie Blaauvelt, his wife.)^2,4 He married Jacomyntje Helling, daughter of Theunis Helling and Grietje Blauvelt, circa 1747.^5,3 Gerrit J Demarest died on 17 December 1798 at Bergenfield, NJ.^1,5,3 He was buried in South Church Churchyard in Schraalenburgh (Bergenfield.)³

     Gerrit J Demarest and Jacomyntje Demarest made a will on 7 February 1798. It was proved 25 Aug 1816. They were Garret De Marest, and wife Jacomintye, of Passkack, Harington Twsp., Bergen Co. Name two grandchildren, Jacomintye and Marya (children of our eldest son Theunis, dec'd); son Jacobus; 3 daughters, Margaret (wife of Hendrick Banta), Mary (wife of Peter Jaco. Demarest) and Lea (wife of Peter P. Demarest); son Abraham; sons Johannes and Samuel. Executors: sons Jacobus, Abraham, Johannes and Samuel, and friend James Demarest. Witnesses: Albert Bogert, Cornelius D. Blauvelt, and Yan Haring.⁶

     Gertrude Ann Demarest was born in December 1837.^1,2 She married Frederick F Wortendyke in 1854.¹ Gertrude Ann Demarest died on 18 August 1910.^1,3 She was buried in Pascack Cemetery in Park Ridge.³

     The 1880 census lists Frederick F Wortendyke and Gertrude Ann, with his son Peter E. (21, b. NJ, workes on farm); his daughter-in-law Sarah (25, b. NY, parents b. England), and his sister Charity F. (50, b. NJ, at home). Frederick is 48, b. NJ, farmer, parents b. NJ; Gertrude Ann is 42, b. NJ, keeps house, parents b. NJ.⁴ The 1885 census lists Frederick F Wortendyke and Gitty Ann at Washington Township, Bergen County, NJ, with Peter E Wortendyke (20-60), Sarah Wortendyke (20-60), Charity Wortendyke (20-60), and Edith Wortendyke (0-5). Frederick and Gitty both 20-60.⁵ The 1895 census lists Frederick F Wortendyke and Gertrude Ann at Washington Township, NJ, with Peter E Wortendyke (20-60), Sarah Wortendyke (20-60), Charity Wortendyke ( over 60), and Edith Wortendyke (5-20). Frederick is over 60; Gertrude 20-60. They are listed twice!^6,7 The 1900 census lists Frederick F Wortendyke and Gertrude Ann at Montvale, Bergen County, NJ, with (in the same house, but different family) Peter E. Wortendyke (41, b. Oct 1858, NJ, farmer), his wife Lizzie (28, b. Jun 1871, NJ, parents b. NJ; m. 2 yrs, 1 child living); and daughters Edith (19, b. Apr 1881, NJ, father b. NJ, mother b. England) and Eslie (5, b. Nov 1894, NY, parents b. NJ). Frederick is 75, b. May 1825, NJ, parents b. NJ; Gertrude is 62, b. Dec 1837, NJ, parents b. NJ. They were married 41 yrs, she is listed as having had no children.² Her parents were David J. Demarest and Ann Brickell.¹ Married name: Wortendyke. Name variation: Gitty Ann Wortendyke.⁵

     Giertje Demaree was born on 6 March 1769.¹ She was baptized on 26 March 1769 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)¹ She married Hezekiah Houghteling.²

     Giljam Demarest was born on 26 September 1765.¹ He was baptized on 6 October 1765 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Johannes Westervelt and Magdalena, his wife.)¹

     Gilliam Demarest was born on 22 December 1778 (Find-a-Grave has year as 1779.)^4,5,6 He married Martha Banta, daughter of Samuel A Banta and Elisabeth Eckerson.^1,2 Gilliam Demarest died on 18 February 1856.^5,7,4 He was buried in Lafayette Cemetery in Lafayette.⁶

     Gilliam Demarest and Martha had also a son Petrus, b. 9 Jun 1799, bp. 4 Aug 1799 (Par. p.115); died young..² The 1850 census lists Gilliam Demarest and Martha at Lafayette Twp, Sussex County, NJ, with Ellen Winters (69), Josephine Demarest (14), Guilion Demarest (12), Susan A Demarest (6). Guilion is 72, farmer, b. NY; Martha is 69, all are b. NJ. They are next door to Peter G Demarest.⁸ The 1855 census lists Gilliam Demarest and Martha at Lafayette Twp, NJ, Gilliam is 77, Martha 74. They are probably in the household of Peter G Demarest.⁵

     Gilyaam Demarest was baptized on 26 September 1762 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)¹ He married Bridget Brouwer, daughter of Jan Brouwer and Rachel Van Brakelen, on 12 April 1784 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)²

     Gilyaem Demarest was born on 12 February 1769.¹ He was baptized on 19 February 1769 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)¹ He (1) married Jannetje Davis, and (2) Hannah Burdette.²

     Grietie Demarest was baptized on 3 August 1760 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Isaac Bogert and Leya, his wife.)¹

     Acc. to BC-Families, she married John Bogert on 3 Apr 1781 (NYC Collegiate), but acc. to Konight, this is in error!^2,3

     Grietjin Demarest was baptized on 1 January 1736 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Theunis Van Houten and Rebecca Nagel.)¹ She died before 1746.²

     Grietjin Demarest and Petrus Demarest were twins.¹

     Guiliam Demarest was baptized on 4 November 1739 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Guiliam Demarest and Feitjin, his wife.)^1,2 He married Susanna Retan, daughter of Abraham Retan and Sara Van Gelder, on 13 March 1761 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)^3,4

     Guilliam Demarest was born on 31 July 1716.^3,2 He was baptized on 5 August 1716 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC) (sp.      Hester Demarest was born in 1786 (Konight had month as October, dates probably reversed.)² She was baptized on 9 September 1786 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)² She married John Vreeland, son of Johannis Vreeland and Sarah Allen.¹
