     Cornelis Jansen Clopper was from Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands, when he married.1 He married Heyltje Pieters on 28 October 1657 at New York City (DRC) (He was Cornelis Janszen Clopper, from Bergen op Zoom; she Heyltje Pieters, from Amsterdam.)1,2 Cornelis Jansen Clopper died before 24 June 1693.3

     1656. May 17. Oloff Stevensz, as co-guardian of the minor children of Jan Van Rotterdam, dec'd., and the deceased's son, Jan Jansz, about 15 years old, of the first part, and Corn. Jansz Clopper of the second part, enter into the following agreement: Jan Jansz, aforesaid, hires himself out to Corn. Jansz Clopper, for three consecutive years, for the purpose of learning the trade of blacksmith. During his apprenticeship said Clopper is to provide said Jan Jansz with board, lodging and clothing, and at the end of the three years provide him with a decent outfit of clothing and pay him the amount of 130 Carolus guilders.4 Cornelis Jansen Clopper was a Master Smith.3 He and Heyltje Pieters made a will on 10 September 1669. Letters of Administration were granted to Heyltje Clopper on 24 Jun 1693. They mention their minor children Dina, Margaretta, Johannah, Catharina, and Petrenella.3

     Elisha COBB was born 6 June 1736 at Eastham (Wellfleet) He was the son of Elisha and Mary (Harding) COBB. Leaving Wellfleet or Barnstable, with one of the Harding families, he came to Gorham as early as 1750. In 1758 he was a soldier in Capt John Libby's Company, Col Prebles Regiment - which regiment served in the French and Indian War, scouting back from the seacoast. I think he was then of Cape Elizabeth. He was a soldier in the Revolution, a private in Capt Hart William's company, Col Phinneys Regiment. In Nov 1760 he married Elizabeth Murch. 25 July 1765 he bought of David Gorham the thirth acre lot, 37, and also a part of 39. Here he made his home. His house was nearly opposite to that of Prince Davis, on the Flaggy Meadow Road (Old Buxton Rd) Children:

(Eastham TR p 60) The estate of Josiah Harding was settled 11 Nov 1752 at which time Mary Harding COBB was dead, her share being given to her son Elisha. Heirs were Elizabeth wife of Wm Merrick, Martha wife of Timothy Cole; Mary (decd) wife of Elisha COBB, Bethia, wife of John Freeman, Jr., widow Hannah Doane and Widow Hannah Harding, mother of the above.      The estate of Elisha COBB of Harwich, house carpenter; 30 Mar 1756, Thomas Winslow of Harwich appointed adm. 19 May 1756 inventory by John Snow, Kenelmn Winslow, Jr and Chillingsth Foster, Jr. Estate insolvent. Account refers to widow's part but does not give her name. (Barn probate 7:417 9:202-204)
