     NOTE: While Haring File (Konight) has Elizabeth in pencil on the GFS of Isaac Haring and Phebe Acker, the death and burial dates seem to be for Ellen Haring, who married Abraham Peterson. It is still unclear, who the Betsy Haring, who is living with John Terhune in 1850.1
     NOTE: Sarah Jane is in the 1860 census, but not in the 1850 census; Elizabeth is neither in 1850 or in 1860 with Isaac and Phebe. In 1850 a Betsy (15) and Sarah J.(13) Herring are living in NYC with John and Sara Gertuen(?). John is a shoemaker. This is most likely John Terhune and Sarah Haring: A daughter Margaret (4 in the 1850 census), m. Francis Stone at age 20 in 1866); son James (7 in the 1850 census, m. (1) Emma (Terhune?, she d. 1885), and (2) in 1905 Sarah E. Daniels (wid., husb d. 1880); he d. 1914, his parents are listed in the death certificate, and in the application for a marriage license in 1905 (Union County, NJ)
John Terhune was a shoemaker/ dealer; d. 7 Jun 1877 in Manhattan at age 63, bur. 9 Jun 1877 in New York Cemetery (now Maple Grove), wife still alive.

     Ellen Haring was born on 5 January 1800 at Tappan, Rockland County, NY.1,2 She was baptized on 15 February 1800 at Tappan, NY.2 She married John Henry Goetschius, son of Stephen Goetschius and Elizabeth Dubois, on 11 August 1819.1 Ellen Haring died on 27 November 1887 at Saddle River, Bergen County, NJ.1 She was buried in DRC Churchyard in Saddle River.1
