Jan Stagg lived in 1711 between Sicomac and Franklin Lakes.4 He was a mason by trade. Jan with William Dey built the octagonal Dutch Reformed Church of Hackensack (Church on the Green) built in 1696. Jan also built some of the old houses along what is now Polifly Rd. and Terrace Ave in Hasbrouck Heights.4 He made a will on 26 December 1738. It was proved 29 Jan 1738/9.
