NJ, parents b. Holland) are enumerated before them, and a Harry (Sep 1889, b. NJ, parents b. Holland) Smith with wife and two children after them. Harry is a plumber.4 The 1930 census lists Jacob Smith and Catherine at Irving Street at Midland Park Borough, NJ, with three children: Henry K. (25, b. NJ, prob. a son of Catherine's 1st marriage), Jean (22, b. NJ), Elisabeth (15, adopted, b. NJ), and a boarder Garrett Klein (27, b.      Rienk de Jong was born in 1874 at The Netherlands.2 He married Jennie in 1896.3,4

     Rienk de Jong immigrated on 10 June 1893 on the Rotterdam, from Rotterdam, arriving on 10 Jun 1893 in New York. He was alone, and going to Paterson, NJ.5 The 1910 census lists Rienk de Jong and Jennie at 125 North Main Street (1st Ward) at Paterson City, Passaic County, NJ, with six children: Josie (13), Elida (12), Martha (8), Tillie (7), John S. (5) and Richard (3), all born in NJ.3 Rienk de Jong was in 1910 a merchant (hardware), in 1920 a blacksmith helper.3,4 The 1920 census lists Rienk de Jong and Jennie at 81 Rea Ave at Haledon Borough, Passaic County, NJ, with five children: Alida (21), Martha (18), Tillie (17), John S. (15) and Richard (13), all born in NJ.4
     Possible he was born on 19 April 1874 as son of Marten de Jong and Elizabeth Hof (1874 #A 139), but he has no son Marten and no daughter Elisabeth.6
     Possibly he was living as a lodger at 94 Hamilton Ave (3rd Ward), Paterson City, Passaic County, NJ, in the 1900 census. He was 26, born Apr 1874 in the Netherlands. Occupation unreadable, he is single, and household is continued from another page, but the reference is cut off. However if the children are his, then he should have been married by now!7

     Thijs de Jong was born at The Netherlands.2 He married Tillie den Hartog, daughter of Cornelius Den Hartog and Grietje de Vries.1 Thijs de Jong died before 1914.1
