     She had her first communion at the NY Lutheran Church on 1 Sep 1717.^5,6 Margrita Matthys and Albert had a daughter Trintie (bp. 6 Mar 1720, Hackensack; sp. Andries Van Orden and Trintie, wife of Mattys Cornelese.⁷ Married name: Van Orden.

     Marytje Mathyse was from Hackensack, NJ, acc. to her marriage certificate.¹ She married Lowys Claes, son of Nicolaes Manuel and Lucretia Lowies, on 29 June 1730 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)¹ (Banns on 19 May 1730. Louwies Claesien, ym from Gemoenepa, and Maria Mattyse yd, from Hackensack.)¹

     Rachel Matthyse married Augustinus Van Dunk, son of Augustyn Van Dunk and Fietje, on 28 April 1726 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC) (Augustyn Van Donk, jm, and Rachel Matthyse, yd, both liv. in Bergen County.)²

     Konight has a note that Rachel Matthyse, who married Augustyn Van Donk might not be a daughter of Mathys Cornelisse and Tryntje Helling. She states "no family as witness," but it is unclear whether this is at Rachel's baptism (when the sponsors are the same as for Dirck), or at Rachel's children's baptism (when the sponsors are all from the Van Donk side).
     She does have a Rachel Matthysse, who married (1) John Borgond, (2) Lucas Van Horn, and (3) Isaac Van Duzer, but gives no more information. BC-Families (Van Horn File) has that Rachel as daughter of Mathys and Tryntje, but d.
     The will of Matthys Cornelis mentions daughter Rachel Begonem, which is likely Rachel Borgond
     BC-Families (Van Deusen File) has Isaac Van Deusen, who married Rachel Begonn or Bergen in 1762; they have four children. This cannot be the same Rachel, as she would be 70 at the birth of her last child.^3,4,5,6 Married name: Van Dunk.

     Sara Matthyszen was baptized on 23 December 1681 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Pieter Van de Water and Marritie Joosten; father Cornelis Matthyszen, mother Marritie Dircx.)^1,3

     Sara and Rachel were twins.³

     Sara Matthyse married Cornelis Haal.

     Is Sara Matthyse, who married Casparus Haal, a daughter of Matthys Cornelissen (he had a sister Sarah; but she is not in Konight) or of Matys Cornelissen (or neither)?² Married name: Haal.

     Tryntje Matthyson was from Cattegat acc. to her marriage certificate.² She (1) married Gerrit Volck on 15 August 1745 (NY Lutheran Church) (in the parsonage at NY.      Gysbert Matthysse was born circa 1650 (13 in 1663.)² He was baptized on 2 December 1646 at Tuil, Gelderland, The Netherlands, Gysbert, son of Mathijs Janse, soldaat onder Capt. De Swart.¹ He married Jannetje Adriaens, daughter of Ariaan Lambertse Smeets and Willemke Jans, on 26 February 1772 at Flatbush, NY, (DRC.)^3,4

     Name variation: Gysbert Mathijsse Van Pelt.

     Hendrick Matthysse was born in 1650 (13 in 1663.)² He (1) married Annetie Tileman.^1,3 He (2) married Maria Bennet in 1690.^1,3 He died in January 1694.⁴

     Hendrick Thyse Lane lately died intestate, leaving children under age. Guisbert Thyse Lane and John Van Dyck, the brother and brother in law of said Hendrick Thyse Lane, are appointed administrators on 25 Jan 1693/4.⁴

     Jan Matthysse was born circa 1646 (17 in 1663.)² He was baptized in March 1644 at Tuil, Gelderland, The Netherlands, (March 1644. Jan, son of Mathijs Pelt, soldaat onder Capt. De Swart.)¹

     Abraham Matthyssen was from Hackensack, NJ, acc. to his marriage certificate.² He married Jora Van Ginee on 29 August 1729 (NY Lutheran Church) (at the Parsonage: Abraham Mattyssen, free Negro at Hakkinsak, and Jora Van Ginee.)^2,3 (Banns on 3 August 1729. Abraham Matthys, a free Negro at Hackensack, and Jora Van Ginee, born at Boswyk.)^2,4

     Jora and her newly wedded husband Abraham Matthyssen, all free and baptised Negroes, are sponsors at the baptism of Susanna Crommel. It is unclear who this Jora is. Jora (Van Guinee) married Are Van Guinee c. 1685, and her daughter Jora Van Guinee married Pieter Salomons. Is this a second marriage for one of them?^2,1

     Rosina Mattjetscheck was born in 1858 at New Jersey.¹ She married Hugo R Schoenborn, son of Christian Gottlieb Schoenborn, in 1876.^1,2 Rosina Mattjetscheck died on 10 December 1927.³ She was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack.³

     The 1880 census lists Hugo R Schoenborn and Rosina at Hackensack (New Barbadoes Twp), NJ, with a daughter Rosina R (2, b. NJ) and two German boarders, both bakers; and a German servant. Hugo is a baker as well, he and his parents were born in Saxony.² The 1900 census lists Hugo R Schoenborn and Rosina at 28 Main Street at Hackensack, NJ, with their children, all b. NJ: William R (May 1882), Henry A (Oct 1884, d. 16 Feb 1903, of typhoid, obit in the Hackensack Republican), Authar R (Dec 1888), and Anna W (Jul 1893); and his parents-in-law Anthony Mattjetscheck and Rosina. Hugo is a life-insurance clerk. Rosina S had had seven children, four living; Rosina M seven children, two living.^1,4 Married name: Schoenborn.

     Anton Mattjetscheek was born on 1 March 1828.^2,1 He married Rosina in 1853.³ He died on 2 March 1902.^2,1 He was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack, Plot 24-A.^2,1

     Anton Mattjetscheek was a Civil War veteran.²
     In 1900 Anton (b. Mar 1828, Germany) and his wife Rosina (b. Jul 1831, Germany. She had seven children, two living) living with his son-in-law and daughter Rosina, and their children, in Hackensack. They immigrated in 1849.³ Name variation: Anton Mittjelsheek.²

     Margaret Mattoon was born on 4 November 1678 at Springfield, MA.¹ She married Joseph Alexander on 28 May 1705 at Deerfield, MA.¹

     William Matz was in Company K 11 NJ Volunteers during the Civil War.¹ Name variation: William Martz.²

     Catherine Maul was born on 19 November 1839 at York County, PA.¹ She married Uriah Jacobs, son of George Jacobs and Sarah (Sally) Catharine Altland.¹ Catherine Maul died on 13 December 1927 at East Berlin, PA.¹ She was buried in Mummerts Meeting House Cemetery in East Berlin.¹

     Last name could be Moul or Mahl.¹ Married name: Jacobs.

     Catherine Elizabeth Maul was born on 16 February 1749/50 at Hanover, York County, PA.¹ She married John Joseph, son of George Henry Joseph and Anna Elizabeth Haring.¹
