Vrouwtje Verway

Jan (the father) was a Huguenot refugee from Holland who came to this country in the latter part of the 17th century and settled somewhere on the present site of Brooklyn. He was a weaver in Flatlands.^2,8 Jan Berdan was Justice of the Peace in Bergen County for many years.²
NOTE: The Berdan File has two unnamed children of Jan Berdan and Vrouwtje Verway. This seems unlikely, as Vrouwtje is at least 52 yr old at her marriage with Jan Berdan (if she was 15 at her first marriage.)^9,1
