Jillisje Claase1

F
FatherClaes Cornelis Swits1 b. c 1600, d. 28 Aug 1641
Jillisje Claase (1) married Harmen Myndertse Van der Bogart (He was Harmen Myndertse Van Der Bogart (b. 1612); she Jillisje Claese Schouw, of Zierickzee in Holland; date as 164?)1,2 She (2) married Jan Labatie at Schenectady, NY, (DRC) (He was Jan Labatie (Labaddie), of France; she Jillesje Claase (Swits), wid Harmen Myndertse Van der Bogart, aunt of Claas and Isaac Cornelise Swits; date 1634, but that has to be wrong.)1,2
Jillisje Claase had four children, acc. to BC-Families, but only three found in records:
1. Francoys (bp. 26 Aug 1640, NYDC; father Herman Meynderts; sp. Maria Ederiaen, Cornelis Leenderts, Hans Kierstede, and Aeriaentje Cornelis; also listed in Schenectady as Frans bp. 26 Aug 1640; parents Harmen Myndertse Van Der Bogart (b. 1612) and Jillisje Claese Schouw; mentioned in Notarial Papers)
2. Meyndert (bp. 3 May 1643; NYDC; father Herman Meyndertsz; sp. Hendrick Van Dyck, Gysbert Opten Dyck, Cornelis Tienhoven, Anneken Loockermans, and Sara Roelofs; also listed in Schenectady as Myndert, bp. 3 May 1643; parents Harmen Myndertse Van Der Bogart (b. 1612) and Jillisje Claese Schouw; mentioned in Notarial Papers)
3. Lysbet (Schenectady, no date, parents Harmen Myndertse Van Der Bogart (b. 1612), and Jillisje Claese Schouw; m. Harmen Janse Knickelbacker).2,3,4,5
While Jellisje is listed as aunt of Cornelis' sons Claes and Isaac, her father is Claes Jansen, acc to Harmen Mynderts will. More research is needed. Her surname Schouw at the first marriage is prob. from Schouwen, Zeeland, even though she is listed as from Zierikzee in the will (which is on the island of Schouwen.)2,5 Name variation: Jillisje Claase Swits. Married name: Van der Bogert. Married name: Labadie.

Sybout Claesen1

M, d. before 8 February 1680
Sybout Claesen was from Hoorn, Noord Holland, The Netherlands, acc. to his marriage certificate.2 He married Susanna Jans on 12 March 1645 at New York City (DRC) (He was Sybolt Claeszen, jm from Hoorn; she Susanna Jans, wid. of Aert Theuniszen.)3,4,1,5 Sybout Claesen died before 8 February 1680.6,7

Family

Susanna Jans
Sybout Claesen and Susanna Jans made a will on 10 February 1678/79. It was proved 8 Feb 1679/80. They were Sibout Claasens, being sick, and his wife Susannah Jans. Each bequeaths his share of the estate to the survivor. They name Susanna's two daughters by her late husband Arent Teunisen: Susannah, wife of Reynier Williamson, and Weyntie, wife of Simon Barentz. Witnesses: Evert Petersen and Sybert Jansen. Letters of Administration to Susannah Jans on 16 Feb 1680.8,5,6,9
A note states: "Sibout Claessen was no doubt related (cousin?) to Harck Siboutsen [Krankhyte] from Langedyk on the river Kuinre, in the district of Zevenwolden, or Seven Forests." The relation may be possible (Langedijk and Hoorn are both in West Frisia in the Province of North Holland), but there is no river Kuinre; the place Kuinre is in Overijssel, and Zevenwolden in Friesland. This place designation comes from "Revised History of Harlem," by James Riker. There is however also a small village "Langedijke" in Friesland itself, which was located within the borders of Zevenwolden.
BC-Families has a prob. baptism in 1620 in Langedijk, and Herck's father as Sybe Sybes; Konight has Sybout's parents as Claes Syboutsen and Annitje Hendricks.10,11,1
Acc. to Konight, Andries Claeszen and Sybout Claesen are brothers; but she also has Sybout's father as Jan.2
