Johannis Rosevelt was baptized on 3 March 1689 at Kingston, NY, (DRC.)1,3,4 He married Heyltje Olferts, daughter of Olphert Sioerts and Margrietje Clopper, on 25 September 1708 at New York City (DRC.)5,6,1,7 (with license; Joh: Rosevelt and Hyla Sjoerts; reg. On 25 September 1708.)6 Johannis Rosevelt died on 4 April 1750 aged 63.8

Family

Children
Johannis Rosevelt made a will on 8 January 1746. It was proved 13 Jul 1750. He was John Roosevelt, of New York. Names wife Heyltie; children Oliver (eldest son), Johanes, Cornelius, Margaretta, and Mary. Executors: wife Heyltie, brother Jacobus Roosevelt, friends Christopher Bancker and Abraham Lefferts, and my brother-in-law Jeremiah Owen. Witnesses: Abraham Haring, Elbert Haring, and Gerardus Beekman.
In codicil, dated 1 Apr 1750, he leaves to son Johanes £100; to son-in-law Abraham Duryea £50; and to son Cornelius a large amount of real estate. Executors: wife, son Cornelius, son Johanes, and friend Christopher Bancker. Witnesses: George Hardenbrook, Andrew Thompson, and Isaac Roosevelt.
However, Konight says the will is incorrectly abstracted, and that Johannes died without issue, and not mentioned in the will. There are certainly some problems, as Oliver is not the eldest son, and Nicholas is not mentioned.9,8 Name variation: Johannes Claes Rosevelt.10 Name variation: Jan Rosevelt.1,2,4
