     Geerrit and Tryntje were listed in the NYDC Memberlist of 1686 as Gerrit Jantze Roos and his wife Tryntje Arents" (member #7-8, name #9-10.)10,11 Gerrit Janszen Roos was named as executor in Jan Vinge's will.12,13,14 Gerrit Janszen Roos made a will on 3 September 1697. Inventory taken 15 Sep 1698. He was a carpenter. He mentions his eldest son Peter, liv. at Utrecht, Holland; his grandsons Peter Gerritse Roos (eldest son of son Peter), Gerrit Jansen Roos (eldest son of son Johanes), Gerrit Provost (eldest son of daughter Cornelia), and Aeltje (daughter of son Johanes). The rest of estate to be divided into five parts, and given to his son Peter; the children of his son Johanes, dec'd; to his daughter Cornelia, wife of Jacob de Moree; to his daughter Affie, wife of Johanes Van Gelder; and to Annatie Elswaert, daughter of my daughter Aeltie procured by John Elswaert. Executors: Jacob De Moree, Johanes Van Gelder, and Jacob Boelen.15,8
     NOTE: While the sources say that Gerrit, son of Jan Roos and Maria Vigne, is born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, the same sources also say that Jan Roos married Maria Vigne in New Netherland!16 Name variation: Gerrit Jansen.17

     Johannes Roos had five children: Gerrit, Aeltje, Catherine (1683 Oct 07; Johannes Roos; Catarina; Melchert Wynandsz, Gerrit Roos, Tryntje Arensz), Cornelia (1688 May 06; Johannes Roos; Cornelia; Jacob Ten Eyk, Maria Schuyler), and Jacobus (1689 Mar 29; Johannes Roos; Jacobus; Jacob Ten Eyk, Maria Van Dyk). Only Gerrit and Aeltje are listed in the will of Jan Vinge, their father's uncle.2
     Roosa File had a marriage with Abigail Plank. That seems like an error, considering the sponsor was Abigail Plank. BC-Families Roos File has a marriage with Cornelia.6,7
