     Petronella Visser was born on 18 September 1845 at Goedereede, Goeree-Overflakkee, Zuid Holland, The Netherlands.¹ She married Jan Klaver.¹ Petronella Visser died on 13 May 1927 at Alkmaar, The Netherlands.²

     The 1870 census lists John Clover and Petrina at #295 at Paterson City Ward 1), Passaic County, NJ, with their daughter Anna (2, b. NJ.)³
     Jan and Petronella must have gone back to Holland before 1880; a daughter Margaretha, b. 1880 in Warmenhuizen married in Alkmaar in 1906.⁴ Her parents were Pieter Visser and Meinderina Prol.² Married name: Klaver. Married name: Petrina Clover.³

     Cathalina Vlierboom was born at Albany, NY.^5,6,7 She married Cornelius Jansen Haring, son of Jan Pietersen Haring and Margrietje Cosyns, circa 1693 at Albany, NY.^1,8,9,3 Cathalina Vlierboom died after 7 February 1742 at Orangetown, Orange County (now Rockland), NY, (she is listed, but not named in her husband's will.)^10,1,11

     Ellen Westervelt Vlierboom was born on 15 July 1841.³ She married James Peter Collignon, son of Peter C Collignon and Mary Catherine Perrine, on 18 September 1858 at Tappan, Rockland County, NY.^4,3 Ellen Westervelt Vlierboom died on 27 April 1915 at New Jersey.^3,5

     Garret Vlierboom was born on 20 October 1845. He married Ellen A Cooper on 20 January 1864 at Schraalenburgh, Bergen County, NJ.¹ Garret Vlierboom was buried in Westwood Cemetery in Westwood.

     The Merged Springs Family Genealogy that serves as a source for this marriage notes that there is record of 3 children, but only lists the name of James Henry Freeborn and Edward H Freeborn. The other record is noted as PRIVATE, possibly Cornelius. Unconfirmed.
     At some point, the family surname may have changed to Fleaboom, Flearboom, or Freeborn Unconfirmed.¹

     John Jans Vlierboom was born on 27 April 1820. He married Rachel Toers, daughter of Lawrence A. Toers and Jannetje (Hannah) Zabriskie, on 16 December 1839 at Saddle River, NJ, (DRC.)² John Jans Vlierboom died on 21 February 1897. He was buried in Westwood Cemetery in Westwood.

     The 1860 census lists John Fleaboam and Rachel at Washington Twp, Bergen County, NJ, with them is Jane Louise (Turise), Widow, Age 75. An Eleanor Fleaboam (widow, 83) is living next door.³
     VLIERBOOM appears as "FLEARBOOM" in many records. Bergen County Marriages, Washington Twp, the name appears as "FLERABORN". Also wedding date is shown as August 1839 in that record. 1860 Census shows record as "Fleaborn". Eleanor Fleaborn, Age 83 is living in dwelling 213, John and Rachel in dwelling 214. Eleanor is likely John's mother. Name variation: John Fleaboam.³

     Margarita Vlierboom was baptized on 19 May 1700 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Cornelis Eckerson and Maria Vlierboom; father Servaas Vlierboom, mother Geertruy Lassing.)^1,4,5 She married Andries Van Buskirk, son of Peter Van Buskirk and Trentje Harmanse.^2,3 Margarita Vlierboom died on 3 June 1775.³ She was buried in Bayonne, in the Family Cemetery, with her husband.³

     Marytje Vlierboom was baptized on 27 February 1698 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Pieter Bogert and Catharina Appel; father Servaas Vlierboom, mother Geertruyt Lassing.)^1,3,4 She married Jacob Ferdon, son of Jacob Ferdon and Femmetje Willems, on 8 April 1720 at New York City (DRC.)^5,6

     Name variation: Marrete Vlierboom.⁵ Married name: Ferdon.

     Matthys Vlierboom was baptized on 25 January 1702 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Daniel de Voor and Catharina Lassing; father Servaas Vliereboom, mother Geertruyt Lassing.)^1,3,4 He died unmarried.²

     Mattys Servaes Vlierboom was born between 1630 and 1640 at The Netherlands.^4,5 He married Marritie Jacobs before April 1667.^4,5,3 Mattys Servaes Vlierboom died circa 1695 at Manhattan, NY.^4,5

     Mattys Servaes Vlierboom and Marritie lived at Albany, NY.⁶
     The first American ancestor of the Flierboom and Vlierboom families was Mattys Flierboom, a Hollander, who emigrated to America somewhere about 1660 and settled at New Orange (Albany), where he became a man of note, rising to the dignities and honors of a judge of the courts at Albany. There he reared a family of five children: Caroline, Wellempie, Maritie, Servaes, and Jacob, and perhaps others. About 1692 the family removed to New Amsterdam, Willempie married Cornelius Jaus Haring. Maritie married in 1694 Rynier Reyserick. Servaes, in 1697, married Gertrude Lesting. Jacob married in 1699 Maritie Peters Haring. All these, except Servaes, became residents of Bergen County. Jacob, at the division of the Tappan patent, bought a large farm at what is now Rivervale, in Washington Township. He owned other lands there. His issue were Mary, Matthew, John, Abram, Ryner, Jannetie, James, and Jannetie. All of these except Matthew were baptized at Tappan. Jacob's children (a large family) located west of the Hackensack on lands bought of John McEvers, and their descendants are scattered over Bergen County, some having taken the name of "Freeborn."⁷
     Turse had a daughter Catharine, b. 4 Mar 1679 (no place). Neither Konight, nor BC-Families Flierboom File has this child. It could be Cathalina, but she had her first child in 1694, when she was barely 15.      Pieter Vlierboom was baptized on 6 August 1704 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Pieter Lassing and Willempie Vlierboom; father Servaas Vlierboom, mother Geertruy Lassing.)^1,3,4 He married Jannetje de Voort.^1,2

     Caroline Vliet was born on 16 October 1845.¹ She married Albert Livingston Drake, son of William Drake and Rachel Morgan Axford, on 20 November 1866.¹

     Caroline was a descendant of Nathan Armstrong, the pioneer.² Married name: Drake.

     Maria Voegtlen was born in June 1883 at New Jersey (but 35 in 1920.)^3,1 She married Harry Vreeland.⁴

     The 1915 census lists Harry Vreeland and Maria at Summit, Union County, NJ, with a child Catherine, and Sarah Briant (77, b. Nov 1837, NJ, widowed.)³ Name variation: Mary A Voegtlen.⁵ Married name: Vreeland.

     Mary B Voegtlen was born in 1859 at New Jersey.¹ She married John C Voegtlen.²

     The 1920 census lists Mary B Voegtlen at Summit, Union County, NJ, with five children, all b. NJ: Amelia M (39), Emma (33), Rose L (27), Henry J (24), and Maria Vreeland (35), and three grandchildren Katherine M Vreeland, Orrin F Vreeland and Harry G Vreeland.¹
     In 1900 and 1910 Mary is listed as widowed, with her children, including Mary A Voegtlen. In 1885 they are in Newark, Mary's husband is John C. Voegtlen. John, Mary and six of their children are buried in Presbyterian Cemetery, Springfield, Union County, NJ.^3,4,2,5

     William Voitel was born on 2 July 1892 at Little Ferry, NJ.^4,2,1 He died on 20 January 1927.^1,2 He was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack.^1,2

     The 1900 census listed William Voitel in Frederick and Margaret Voitel's household at Washington Avenue at Little Ferry (Lodi Township), NJ.³ The 1910 census listed William Voitel in Ferdinant and Margaret Voitel's household at Mehrhof Road at Little Ferry (Lodi Township), NJ.⁵ The 1915 census listed Willie Voitel in Fred and Margaret Voitel's household at Mehrhof Road at Little Ferry (Lodi Township), NJ.⁶ William Voitel was a private serving in the 333 Aero Sq. during World War I. He registered for the draft in Little Ferry, he was a carpenter.^7,4,1

     Annetje Folkerts was baptized on 14 November 1705 at Raritan, Somerset County, NJ, (DRC.)¹

     Cornelis Volkertsz married Maria Du Trieux, daughter of Philip du Trieux and Jacquemine Noirett.^2,3,4 Cornelis Volkertsz died before 1650.¹

     Cornelis Volkertsz was a tavernkeeper.¹
     Acc. to Howard Durie, Cornelis Volkertsz is the ancestor of the Viele Family. He gives three children: Cornelis, Jacomijntje, and Pieter, all baptized in New York. The sons correspond to data in the Viele book.^1,5
     It is unclear whether Cornelis Volkertsz is the father of Arnould Cornelisze, or a brother. It is clear that there is a close relationship, as they all appear in a suit against Bennony Arents van Hoak, the second husband of Jacomintje Swart. Pieter Cornelisse Viele is dead, Cornelis Cornelisse Viele enters the complaint (among others), and Aernout Cornelisse Viele and Jacob Meese Vrooman (stepfather of Jacomintie) are made guardians of the child of Pieter and Jacomintie
     Since Aernout is also Cornelisse, it seems likely he is a brother, but he is quite a bit older than Pieter and Cornelis.⁶
     Volkert is not mentioned in the Viele book. It is clear that the first Cornelis is the father of Peter and Cornelis Cornelisse, but he never came to the New World. Acc. to the Viele book there was also a Aernhout Cornelisse, who was too old to be a brother of the other two. Both Aernhout and Cornelis Cornelisse had a descendant named Volkert.⁵

     Dirck Volckerts was born circa 1677 at Boswyck.¹ He (1) married Maria DeWitt, daughter of Pieter DeWitt and Sara Alberts, on 25 September 1691 at Flatbush, NY, (DRC.)² Dirck Volckerts (2) married maybe Jenneken Schouwten on 27 September 1710 at New York City (DRC.)³ (Banns on 6 September 1710. Dirk Valk & Jenneke Schouwten. De Wit does not have this marriage, and there is no indication that he was a widower, so it may not be this Dirck.)^4,3,1 He (3) married Geertje Zynieltse.¹ Dirck Volckerts died on 22 July 1754 at Somerset County, NJ.¹

     They moved to Millstone, Somerset County, NJ, after 1700.² Dirck Volckerts made a will on 4 November 1752. It was proved 5 Aug 1754. He was Dirck Volckerts/Folkerson of Milston River, Somerset County, NJ. Mentions wife Gerttie; children Volker Derrickson, oldest son; Deborah, wife of Hendrick Rosaboome; Hannah Dally; and Mary, wife of Peter Schenk.

     Dirck with Peter Cortelyou, Hendrick Lott and others purchased the Harlingen Tract in Somerset, NJ about 1700.
Dirck and his two brothers inherited the 164 acres of their grandfather's land in Bushwick (and sold it?) to Captain Peter Praa on 16 Mar 1718/19.¹

     Dirck Volckertsen married Christina Vinge, daughter of Gulyn Vinge and Adrienne Cuville.^1,2
