Jan Hendrickszen and Grietie Wessels; father Wessel Evertszen (sic!), mother Aeltje Jans.)^2,3,4 She married Frans Gerbrantszen on 25 March 1697 at New York City (DRC.)^4,5 (Banns on 27 February 1697. He was Frans Gerbrantszen, jm from Amsterdam; she Elisabeth Wessels, jd from N. Yorck, both liv. here.)⁵

     Magdalena Wessels was born on 20 May 1718.^2,3 She was baptized on 2 June 1718 at Acquackanonck, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Joris Reyerse and Antje Schouten.)^3,4 She married Hessel Brouwer, son of Uldrick Brouwer and Hester De Vouw, in 1739.^1,2

     Name variation: Lena Wessels.³ Married name: Brouwer.

     Maria Wessels was born on 12 October 1729.^1,2,3 She was baptized on 19 October 1729 at Acquackanonck, NJ, (DRC) (sponsors: Jacob Van Houten and Marietje Sichelse.)^3,2,4 She married Johannes Ryerson, son of Frans Ryerson and Jane Dey.^5,6

     Maria Wessels and Johannes had three more children, all bp. Acquackanonck:

     Pieter Wesselsen was from Norden in Oost Vriesland acc. to his marriage certificate.² He married Geseyntje Jans Thomas, daughter of Thomas Thomaszen and Josyntje Verhagen, on 19 May 1669 at New York City (DRC) (He was Pieter Wesselszen, jm from Norden in Oost Vrieslt; she Josyntje Thomas, jd from Uytrecht.)^3,4,2 Pieter Wesselsen died before 1679.¹

     Name variation: Pieter Wessels Van Norden.^5,3

     Pieter Wessels was baptized on 28 July 1672 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Hertman Wesselszen, Willem Pieterszen and Marritie Pieters; father Wandel Wesselszen, mother Debora Cornelis.)^2,3

     Sara Wessels was baptized on 5 July 1761 at Bergen County, NJ, (Paramus DRC.)¹ She married John Roblin.¹

     Warnard Wessels was baptized on 21 June 1676 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Pieter Jacobszen Marius, Sylvester Salsbury, and Elisabeth Beeck; father Wandel Wesselszen, mother Debora Cornelis.)¹ He died before 1701 as he is not listed in his father's will.²

     Warnart Wessels was from Aernhem acc. to his marriage certificate.² He (1) married Dievertje Beeck, daughter of Pieter Cornelis and Aeltje Willems, at New York City (DRC.)^2,3,4 (Banns on 10 April 1667 at DRC, New York City. He was Warnert Wessels, jm from Aernhem; she Debora Pieters, from N. Yorke.)² Warnart Wessels (2) married Lysbeth Cornelis, daughter of Cornelis Cornelisz Egmont and Catalyntje Frans, on 5 December 1677 at New York City (DRC) (11 Nov. Warnart Wessels, Wedr. Van Anna Debora Beeck, Lysbeth Corn., j. d. Van N. Albanien, beyde woonende tot N. Yorke. 5 Dec.)^5,1 (Banns on 11 November 1677. He was Warnart Wessels, wid. of Anna Debora Beeck; she Lysbeth Corn., jd from N. Albanien, both living in N. Yorke.)³ Warnart Wessels died before 19 November 1702.⁶

     Warnart and Lysbeth are listed in the NYDC memberlist of 1686 as "Warnar Wessels and his wife Lysbeth Cornelis" (member #88-9, name #106-7.)^7,8 Warnart Wessels made a will on 12 December 1701. It was proved 19 Nov 1702. He was Warner Wessels, of the city of New York, hat maker. Names son Peter Wessels, by my late wife Deborah Wessels; daughter, Antie Wessels, likewise by said Deborah Wessels; wife Elizabeth Wessels; daughter Janicke Wessels. Makes his wife sole executor. Witnesses: George Robinson, William Sell, and Barent Coursens.⁶
     BC-Families has him both as son of Wessel Warnaers and Metje Bonen (in that entry), and in his own entry, as possible son of Warner Wesselszen and Anna Mascop, who is also listed as son of Wessel Warnaers and Metje Bonen. BC-Families lists 12 children for that family, some b. Utrecht, some b. Aernhem, some b. Dordrecht; two daughters Hendrica/Hendrikje, who both marry, two sons Warner, who both marry. It seems this really should be multiple families.⁹

     Warner Wesselszen married Anna Elizabeth Masscop. Warner Wesselszen died before 1678.²

     NOTE: It seems unlikely that the children Herman (Hartman), Jannetje and Henrica born 1635 and later, are children of Preijntje. Also Annetje's surname was not Wessels, but Hartmans, she married as Enneke Hartmans, widow of Jan Wessels! It is not clear (but not impossible) that she is a daughter of Hartman Wessels, but Bergen Families (Wessels File) has the following entry (and has her as daughter of Warner Wessels in Warner's (mother Metje Bonen) entry:
This seems to indicate that Janneke (x Samuel Edsall), Hendrikje (x Gelyn Verplanck), Harmen (x Geertje Rutgers), another Harmen, and Warnaer, Jr. are all siblings. It does NOT make the connection to Hartman. In the same file these children are listed as children of Wessel Warnars and (maybe) Metje Boonen. A daughter Henrica has an extensive will in 1701, which is extracted in the Wessels File, and lists two brothers Harmen, a brother Dirck, and (indirectly) a sister Hendrickje (but not Jannetje.)^4,2 Name variation: Waernaer Wessels.

     Wessel Wesselsz was baptized on 13 September 1681 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Evert Wesselszen and Geertie Dircx; father Frans Wesselszen, mother Tryntie Jans.)⁴ He married Marritie Ten Eyck, daughter of Conraet Ten Eyck and Belitje Hercx, on 12 May 1706 at New York City (DRC) (with license; Wessel Wesselsz and Maria Tenyk.)^1,5,3,6 Wessel Wesselsz died before 1733.⁷

     Wessel Wesselsz and Marritie had seven children, all bp. NYDC, at least two d.y..⁷

     Wessel Wesselszen was baptized on 22 July 1694 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Johannes Tibout and Jannetje Claes; father Jan Wesselszen, mother Francina Stultheen.)^1,2

     Wessell Wessells was born on 5 October 1796.^1,2 He married Catherine L Zabriskie, daughter of Cornelius Zabriskie.¹ Wessell Wessells died on 22 October 1869 at Paramus, Bergen County, NJ, at 5:13 PM.¹ He was buried on 25 October 1869 in C.C. Zabriskie's farm.¹

     Wessell Wessells married Mary Bogert, daughter of Jacobus Bogert, on 22 April 1792.¹ Wessell Wessells died on 2 October 1796.¹

     Wessel Wessels was baptized on 6 March 1695 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Wessel Evertszen and Geertje Everts; father Laurens Wesselsz, mother Aeltje Jans.)¹ He married Rachel Van Emburgh, daughter of Gysbert Van Emburg and Jannetje Mesier, on 12 August 1714 at New York City (DRC.)^2,3,4 (license on 6 August 1714 (Wessel Wesselsze and Racel Van Imburg.)³)

     Wessel Wessels was born on 28 October 1720.¹ He was baptized on 13 November 1720 at Acquackanonck, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Marten Reyerse and Martje Reyerse.)^2,3,4

     He is not listed in his grandfather's will in 1744, but acc. to BC-Families (source Ryereson Genealogy) he married Sarah Post, and had three children.³

     Bartholomew West was born circa 1628 at England. He was buried circa 1703 in Shrewsbury. He died circa 1703.
