     Hessel Pieterse was from Bergen acc. to his marriage certificate.⁵ He was baptized on 12 July 1668 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Jacob Kip and Maria de La Montagne; father Pieter Hesselszen, mother Lysbeth Gerrits.)⁶ He (1) married Lysbeth Claes, daughter of Claes Jansen and Annatje Cornelis, on 24 June 1690 at New York City (DRC) (He was Hessel Pieterszen, jm; she Lysbeth Claes. jd. with cert. from Bergen.)^7,3,8 (Banns on 8 June 1690 at DRC, Bergen, NJ. He was Hessel Pieterse jm from Bergen; she Lysbeth Claes, jd from Hasymus. With cert. to NYC on 24 Jun.)^5,9 Hessel Pieterse (2) married Magdalena Bruyn on 6 February 1714 (she was widow of Hendrick Cornelisze Van Houten.)^8,10,11

     Marselis File has Hessel Marselis (m. (1) Lysbeth Claes; and (2) Magd. Bruyn), son of Pieter Van Marselis and Elizabeth. A Hessel Pieterse, son of Pieter Hessels and Lysbeth Gerrits, was bp. 1668 in NYC; he is jm from Bergen at his marriage. Considering that Hessel is not a name appearing in the Marselis Family, and BC-Families Merselis File only has him as a poss. son (with the two marriages), but does not have more info; and the marriage with Magdalena Bruyn was neither in Bergen, nor in NYDC. My feeling is that the connection with Marselis is wrong.^{12,13,6,14,15}

     Heyltje Pieters was from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, acc. to her marriage certificate.¹ She (1) married Cornelis Jansen Clopper on 28 October 1657 at New York City (DRC) (He was Cornelis Janszen Clopper, from Bergen op Zoom; she Heyltje Pieters, from Amsterdam.)^2,3 Heyltje Pieters (2) married Soert Olfertszen on 26 September 1697 at New York City (DRC.)^4,5 (with license. He was Sourt Olphertszen, wid. of [name not entered]; she Heyltie Pieters, wid. of [name not entered] both living here; reg. On 26 September 1697.)⁵ Heyltje Pieters died in November 1700.⁶

     On 23 Sep 1697 Soert Olfertszen and Heyltje Pieters, widow of Cornelius Clopper, late of this city, are planning to marry. They make an agreement about their respective properties.⁷ She made a will on 14 October 1700. It was proved in 1700. She mentions the children of her eldest son Johannes Clopper: Eightie, Cornelis, and Annetie; her son Cornelis Clopper; her daughter Margaret, wife of Olphert Shuarts; Catalyna, wife of John Stevens; Peternell, wife of Albertus van de Water; and Dina, wife of Wm Cooley.⁶ Name variation: Hilletje Pieters.⁸ Married name: Heyltje Clopper.

     Hildebrandt Pietersen was born in 1615 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands.² He married Femmetje Alberts.² (Banns on 22 October 1638 at Amsterdam. 23 y.o., from Amsterdam, sailor, his witness was his mother Niesje? Gerrits; 24 y.o. from Norden, parents deceased, no witness.)²

     There are four Hillebrant Pieters who marry in Amsterdam around this same time. No baptism for Jannetie or any other child with Femmetje Alberts. Four children of Hillebrand Pieters and Jannetje Jans were bp. after 1641, but Hillebrant is not a widower at the marriage with Jannetje. His mother was Niesje Gerrits.²

     Jacob Pieterszen was baptized on 18 September 1678 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Reynier Willemszen and Tryntie Reyniers; father Jacob Pieterszen, mother Marritie Brouwers.)^2,3,4

     Jacobus Pieterszen was from Haerlem, living at Mitspatskill acc. to his marriage certificate.¹ He was baptized on 14 October 1667 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Mr. Evert Pieterszen Keteltas and Susanna Jans; parents Pieter Roelofszen, Lysbeth Jans.)^2,3 He married Catharina Keteltas, daughter of Arent Evertsz and Susanna Hendricks De Boog, on 26 October 1695 at New York City (DRC.)^4,1 (Banns on 23 September 1695.)¹

     Jan Pietersen was of the Woestijne acc. to his marriage certificate.⁴ He was baptized on 4 October 1654 at New Amsterdam (DRC) (sp. Hendrick Willemszen and Marretie Claes; father Pieter Van Naerden, mother not listed.)^1,5 He married Anna Pieterse Borsboom, daughter of Pieter Jacobs Borsboom.^6,7,8 Jan Pietersen died on 8 April 1725 at Schenectady.^4,7

     Jan Pietersen was a wheelwright.⁹ He made a will on 3 April 1725. It was probated on 13 Sep 1725. He was of Schenectady. He mentions his eldest son Peter, second son Jacob, youngest son Abraham, and daughter Margaret; mentioned 7 daughters, but only lists Margaret by name.^7,10,4
     While many sources have Jan Pieterse Van Naarden and Jan Pieterse Mebie as the ancestor of both the Mabie and the Van Orden Family, they are NOT the same. See Konight in the Archivist (1997).
     Another error is a death date for Jan (husband of Elizabeth Rees) of 29 Aug 1733 in either Bergen or NYC. Bergen Deaths has Johannes Pietersen on 29 Apr 1733 (#265), but this is neither in BC-Families Mabie, Van Norden, or Van Orden File, nor in Konight. The Mabie and Van Orden File have the same bp. (4 Oct 1654, NY) and death (8 Apr 1725, Schenectady) dates for both Jan Pieterszen!! However, Jan P. Mabie made a will in Schenectady, and at least the death date belongs to him. No mother is listed at baptism, so that remains a mystery.^{11,12,13,14,15} Name variation: Jan Mabie. Name variation: Jan Pieterse Mebie.⁶

     Jan Pietersen was born at New Amsterdam.^1,2 He was baptized on 4 October 1654 at New Amsterdam (DRC) (sp. Hendrick Willemszen and Marritie Claes; father Pieter Van Naerden, mother not listed.)^3,4 He married Elizabeth Rees, daughter of Andries Rees and Celitje Jans, circa 1673 at New York City (NY Lutheran Church.)⁵ Jan Pietersen died on 29 August 1733.²

     Delahant file has Willem as son of Jan Pieters Van Naarden and Elizabeth Rees Van der Lipstaadt, b. 1693 in Bergen, NJ. The bp. date of his supposed father Jan Pieterse Van Naarden is the same as that of Jan Pieterse Mabie, son of Pieter Caspersen Mabie/Van Naarden. This file has the marriage date as 3 Jan 1719, which is no doubt a transciption error.
     The Van Orden Genealogy on Schenectady History (Reynolds) has William as the immigrant (imm. 1670 on 'The Arms of Norway), marrying Temperance in 1716 (which seems late), with children William (c. 1717, m. Sarah DuBois), Margaret (bp. 23 Jan 1726, m. Jean Baptiste Dumond), John (b. 26 May 1727, m. Catherine Dubois), Elizabeth (bp. 29 June 1729, m. David Dumont), Ignatius (bp. 4 Feb 1731, m. (1) Annetie Oosterhoudt, (2) Sara Mynderse), Pieter (bp. 9 Dec 1732), and Sarah (bp. 1735).
     BC-Families and Konight have William and Temperance married in Hackensack on 1 Mar 1719. He was son of Jan Van Orden (bp. date same as Jan Pieterse van Naarden) and Lysbeth Andries Rees. Children: Margaret (23 Jan 1726, Kingston), Elizabeth (29 June 1729, Kingston), Jan (b. c. 1730, m. Elizabeth Gardenier), Peter (9 Dec 1732 Catskill). These children (except Jan) have the same bp. dates as in Reynolds.^6,7,5,8

     Jannetje Pieterse was born circa 1657 at Gelderland, The Netherlands, (4 y.o in imm. record.)^3,4,5,6,7,8 She married Helmigh Van Houten, son of Roeloff C Van Houten and Gerritje Cornelise Van Ness, on 2 October 1676 at Bergen, NJ, (DRC.)^1,4,9 (Banns on 3 September 1676. He was Helmigh Roelofs, ym from Bergen; she Jannetje Pieters, yd from Gelderland.)⁴ Jannetje Pieterse died on 7 October 1729.¹ She was buried on 9 October 1729 in Bergen.¹

     It is unclear, why Helmigh and his wife have the exact same death and burial date. Only Helmigh is listed in HSYB. Name variation: Jannetje Marselis.^10,11 Married name: Van Houten.

     Jannetje Pieters was baptized on 3 October 1687 at Bergen, NJ, (DRC) (sp. Johannes Steynmets and Pryntje Magielse, wife of Adries Claesen; father Pieter Hesselse, mother Elysabet Gerrits.)^3,1,4 She married Barent Barentse Van Horn, son of Barent Christian Van Horn and Geertie Dircks, on 23 February 1712 at Bergen (DRC.)^3,5

     Jeuriaen Pieters was baptized on 3 March 1658 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Jan Janszen Van Rommen, Nicolaes Velthuysen, and Tryntie Jans; father Pieter Jansz Romen, mother Marie Jeuriaens.)¹ He died before 15 November 1662.²
