     Dirck Jansen Dey was a soldier in the service of the Dutch West India Company. Konight has a cryptic note "sentenced to be shot." The source for this is Council Minutes, 1638–1649, p. 284-5, 21 Feb 1647. He must have gotten a reprieve, though.1,10,11
     He came before Dec 1641 to New Amsterdam from Amsterdam.1
     On 18 Dec 1658 Dirck Siecken announces the death of his wife, leaving two children: Jan (6 yrs old) and Teunis (2 yrs old.)12 He made a will on 5 December 1683. It was proved 11 Jul 1693. He mentions his wife Geertie; his son Teunis; and his daughter Jannetie. Letters of administration granted to the widow Geetie Jansen Dey.
