They were going to Paterson, NJ. They were traveling 2nd cabin. A Willemke Meijer (16) and Johannes Meijer (14) are travelling with them.1,5,6 The 1900 census lists Frank de Haan and Grietje at 307 North 10th Street at Manchester Township, Passaic County, NJ, with six children: Peter (Apr 1889, Holland), John (Oct 1891, Holland), Jessie (Sep 1893), Clara (Jul 1895), Henry (Jun 1897) and Harry (Jun 1899.)1 Frank de Haan was a laborer in a printshop, later a printer.1,5
     He filed his petition in Passaic County Court, Paterson, NJ, on 24 June 1904. His witness was John P de Haan.7 The 1910 census lists Frank de Haan and Grietje at Prescott Avenue (#445) at Hawthorne Borough, Passaic County, NJ, with eleven children: Peter (21, Holland), John (18, Holland), Jessie (16, Holland), Clara (14), Henry (12), Harry (12), Charley (8), William (7), Susie (4), Annie (3) and Johanna (1 + 1 mo). A boarder John de Haan (27) and his wife Anna (23), both born in Holland live with them.5 The 1920 census lists Frank de Haan and Margaretha at 125 East Ackerman Ave at Glen Rock Borough, Bergen County, NJ, with six children: Clara (24), Charles (19), William (17), Susie (14), Annie (12) and Johanna (10.)8 Name variation: Frans de Haan.9
