     Hendrick Selijns was born on 5 March 1560 at Sint Truiden, Brabant, Belgium.^1,2 He married Susanna Verclocken.¹ (Banns on 25 November 1589 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was 29, his witness was his brother-in-law Heynrick Kock; she was 22, her witness was her father Hans Verclocken.)^1,2 Hendrick Selijns died on 15 January 1606.²

     Jan Hendricks Selyns names twice a daughter Susanna, and Jan Selijns the elder is witness to the baptism of one of their children. An Elizabet Verclocken is also a sponsor
     A Hendrick Jansen and Tanneke have a son Jan bp. 11 Feb 1590. Witness is Hendrick Rycky(?); and Hendrick Jans and Tanne Eenhou have a son Jan on 4 Oct 1594 Witness is Lyntje ?. While Susanna/Sannetje can also be Tanneke, it seems unlikely that either is Jan Hendricks Selyns.^5,6

Henricus Selyn was from Amsterdam acc. to his marriage certificate.³ He was baptized on 23 March 1636 at Amsterdam (DRC (Old Church)) (sponsors; Johannes De Marees Danielsz and Barbara Webbers; father Jan Selijns Heijndricks, mother Angenieta Webbers.)² He (1) married Mechtelina Specht on 25 July 1662 at Brooklyn (DRC) (He was Henricus Selyns, of Amsterdam, she Mechtelina Specht, of Uytrecht. With certifi- cate from Uytrecht, and after three publications of banns at N. Amsterdam and Breuckelen.)³ Ds. Henricus Selyn (2) married Margareta Riemers, daughter of Isaac de Riemer and Elizabeth Greveraet, on 20 October 1686 at New York City (DRC.)^4,5,6 (Banns on 2 October 1686. He was Henricus Selyns, wid. of Van Machtelt Specht; she Margareta de Riemer, wid. of Mr. Cornelis Steenwyck, both liv. here.)⁵ Ds. Henricus Selyn died on 19 July 1701 aged 65.4.-.^7,8 He and Mechtelina Specht were buried on 22 July 1701, at New York in the church, in front of the space set apart for baptism (doophuisje.)^9,8,10

     Arnoldus Senguerdius was born in 1610 at Utrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands.¹ He married Hester Webber, daughter of Wolfert Webber and Annetje Cocks, at Amsterdam (DRC (Old Church.)²) (Banns on 5 December 1641 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was 31 y.o., liv. in Uytrecht, his witness was his mother Anneke Jansz; her age not given, her witness was Jacob ?, her parents were deceased. They went to Utrecht after the marriage.)¹

     Arnoldus Senguerdius and Hester had a son Wilhelmus, bp. in Utrecht, and two sons, Arnoldus and Gerret, bp. in Amsterdam. Gerrit was buried 9 Oct 1652.^3,4,5

     Margret Serpa was born in 1898.¹ She married Horace Serpa circa 1921 at Massachusetts.¹

     Mary Serpa was born in 1924 at Wareham, MA.¹ She married John L Atkins, son of Leroy Atkins and Dalia Horan, circa 1956 at Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ.¹ Mary Serpa died on 19 February 2003 at Hoboken, NJ.¹ She was buried.¹

     She served in World War II in the WAVES. After the war she worked 35 years at McCrory's Department Store in Hoboken.¹ Married name: Atkins.

     Abraham Serven married Brechie Smith, daughter of Garret Lamberse Smith and Brechtje Haring, on 21 January 1746.¹

     Abraham G Serven was born circa 1782 at New York.³ He married Brechje Blauvelt, daughter of Hermannus Blauvelt and Rachel Van Orden, on 8 June 1805 at West New Hempstead, NY, (Kakiat DRC.)¹

     The 1850 census lists Abraham G Servant at Ramapo, Rockland County, NY, with Bridget Servant (11, b. NY) and Gerrit Cole (10, b. NY). Abraham was 68, b. NY, farmer. His brother John (56), wife Jemina (Valentine, 46) and daughter Rachel (13) are living next door.^3,2
     There probably is a relation between Abraham G Serven and Garret Servans Cole, but it is unclear how.⁴ Name variation: Abraham G Servant.³

     Brechtje Serven was born on 1 October 1750.¹ She was baptized on 21 October 1750 at Tappan, NY, (DRC.)¹ She (1) married Isaac Blauvelt.¹ (license on 13 November 1770 at New York.)¹ She (2) married John Stagg, son of Abraham Stagg and Marritie Bogert, on 20 February 1787 at Tappan, NY, (DRC) (John Steg, widower, of New Hempstead and Breggie Servent, widow, of Tappan.)¹ Brechtje Serven (3) married Klaas Van Houten on 6 July 1788 at Tappan, NY, (DRC.)¹

     Gerrit Serven was born on 10 January 1756.¹ He was baptized on 8 February 1756 at Clarkstown, NY, (DRC) (sp. Daniel De Klerck and Margritje Smitt; father Abraham Servent, mother Breghje Smith.)^1,3 He (1) married Elizabeth Van Houten, daughter of Petrus Van Houten and Marretye Nagel, on 12 December 1780.¹ Gerrit Serven (2) married Elizabeth Eckerson, daughter of Thomas Eckerson and Elizabeth Meyer.^4,1 Gerrit Serven died on 30 October 1844.⁵ He was buried in Monsey Cemetery.^5,6

     Mary (Polly) Serven was born circa 1822 (28 in 1850.)^1,2 She married Charles May, son of Anthony May and Elisabet De Baun, on 15 July 1843 at Saddle River, NJ, (Zion Lutheran Church.)^3,4,5 Mary (Polly) Serven died on 2 June 1883 aged 61.2.17.¹ She was buried in Airmont Lutheran Cemetery in Suffern.^1,6

     The 1850 census lists Charles May and Mary at Ho-Ho-Kus Township, Bergen County, NJ, with Elizabeth (6), John J (4), and Lewis H (2). Charles is 88, blacksmith, Mary is 28. All are b. NJ.² Married name: Mary May.

     Philip Servant was born in 1721.² He married Marya Onderdonk, daughter of Adriaen Andriesz Onderdonk and Sara Snediker.^1,2

     Susanna Server was born on 11 February 1716.¹ She was baptized on 10 April 1716 at Tappan, NY, (DRC) (sponsors: Frans Feyck and Susan Vesryen; father Flip Servo, mother Catreyn Steybreyn; child listed as Susan Marray.)^1,2 She married Jacob Eckerson, son of Jan Eckerson and Marie Van Aernum.^3,1

     Margaret Jane Service was born in 1837 at South Carolina.² She married Horatio Hennion, son of William Norcross Hennion and Julia Ann Ward.^1,2

     The 1880 census lists Horatio Hennion and Margaret at Hanover (ED 118), Morris County, NJ, with 9 children: William N (24, farmer), Julian W (22, laborer), Horace V (20, laborer), Alice (18, teacher), and Margaret F (16), all b. Georgia; and Ida B (14), Herbert (12), Jennie E (9), and Reginald (2), all at home, all b. New Jersey. Horation is 53, b. NJ, laborer; Margaret is 43, b. South Carolina, keeps house, her parents were born Ireland.
     Next door are more Hennions, possibly Horatio's siblings.² The 1910 census lists Margaret Jane Service at Hanover Twp (ED 14), Morris County, NJ, with 3 children, Julian (53), Ida (43), and Florence (46). Margaret was 73, b. SC; Julian and Ida are listed as b. NJ, Florence as b. SC. Margaret was widowed, she had 8 children, all living. They are next door to Horace Victor Hennion.³ Married name: Hennion.

     Mary Frances Seton was born on 21 March 1785.^1,2 She married Martin Hoffman, son of Nicolaes Hoffman and Sarah Ogden, on 14 May 1802.^1,2

     Cornelis inherited a large farm from his father-in-law; he was a member of the Kings County Assembly.^1,6 Cornelis Seubring made a will on 23 May 1721. It was proved 25 Mar 1723. He was Cornelius Sebering, of the township of Brookland, in Kings County. Names wife Aeltie executor; children: Frederick (eldest), Johanes, Isaac, Jacob (unmarried), Abraham (under age), Ariantse (wife of Thomas Furdon), Catharine (wife of John Hibon); Cornelius (wife of Daniel Polhemus, Jr.), Elizabeth Sebering, and Maria Sebering.      13 Aug 1742. Cornelius Sebering of Kings County, by his will, dated 23 May 1721, made Altie Sebering executor. She died, and Letters of administration are granted to his oldest son, Frederick Sebering.^1,7,8,9 Name variation: Cornelius Sebring.^10,1,11

     Frederick Seubring married Maritje Provost, daughter of Jonathan Provoost and Catharina Van der Veen, on 7 December 1711 at New York City (DRC.)^1,2,4,5 (with license. Frederik Sebering and Maria Provoost; reg. On 23 November 1711.)⁵

     Isaac Seubring was baptized on 14 May 1693 at Brooklyn, NY, (DRC) (sponsors: Theodorus Polhemius and Aert Teunis Bogaert.)^1,2,4 He married Catharine.¹ Isaac Seubring died before 3 May 1784.⁵

     Isaac Seubring made a will on 14 September 1771. It was proved 3 May 1784. He was Isaac Sebring, of Brookland, Kings County. Mentions (but does not name) wife; names son Cornelius; daughter Katherine (yet unmarried); daughter Margaret, wife of Whitehead Cornwell; grandchildren Katherine, Margaret, and Isaac Sebring, by my daughter Altie, dec'd, spouse of Cornelius Sebring in New York; daughter Elizabeth (prob. incompetent); granddaughter, Mary Terhune. Executors: son Cornelius, sons-in-law, Cornelius Sebring and William Caverly, grandson by marriage, Archibald Currie. Witnesses: Duncan Currie; Jo. Boyd; and David Currie, of the City of New York, merchant.⁵

     Jakob Seubring was baptized on 5 November 1697 at Brooklyn, NY, (DRC) (sponsors: Daniel Polhemus and Neltie Polhemus.)^1,2,4 He married Femmetje Vanderveen.¹ Jakob Seubring died in 1782.¹

     Jakob Seubring made a will on 15 February 1776. It was proved 29 Jul 1782. He was Jacob Sebring, of the township of Broucklin in Kings County, on the Island of Nassau, yeoman. Names wife Femmetye; son John (he being now my eldest son); grandson John Suydam (under age); sons Jacob (under age) and Isaac; daughter Femmetye, wife of Rynier Suydam; daughter Catharina (unmarried). Executors: sons Jacob and Isaac, and son-in-law Rynier Suydam. Witnesses: Hendrick Suydam, Johannes E. Lott, and Hendrick H. Suydam.^1,5
