     Cornelius Maas was born in 1893 at The Netherlands.¹ He married Agnes Nawyn, daughter of Albertus Nawyn and Bartje Glas.¹ Cornelius Maas died on 9 January 1975 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains, Bergen County, NJ.¹ He was buried in Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa.¹

     The 1910 census listed Cornelius Maas in Cornelius P and Jennie Maas's household at 92 East Main Street (1st Ward) at Paterson City, Passaic County, NJ.³ The 1920 census lists Cornelius Maas and Agnes at 218 Haledon Ave at Prospect Park Borough, Passaic County, NJ, with two children: Betty (2 + 5mo) and Cornelius Jr. (1 + 5mo), both born in NJ.⁴

Maas immigrated on 31 March 1909 on the Potsdam, from Rotterdam (Mar 20, 1909), arriving in New York on 31 Mar 1909, with seven children: Cornelis (17), Willemina Kl. (15), Klaartje W. (14), Jacob (10), Jannetje (9), Maria (8) and Johannes (1). They were going to his brother H. W. Verbaarschal, 17 Watson Street, Paterson. Last residence was Texel, contact his father Pieter Maas. (Note: William V is at most a brother-in-law.)¹ The 1910 census lists Cornelius P Maas and Jennie at 92 East Main Street (1st Ward) at Paterson City, Passaic County, NJ, with eight children: Peter (19), Cornelius (18), Minnie (16), Clara (15), Jacob (12), Jennie (10), Marie (9) and John (2.)³ The 1920 census lists Cornelius P Maas and Jennie at 18 Struyk Ave at Prospect Park Borough, Passaic County, NJ, with three children: Jennie (20), Marie (19) and John (12), all born in NJ.⁴ His parents were Pieter Maas and Willemina Borgman.²

     Jan Maas was born in 1814 at Koudekerke, Zeeland, The Netherlands.² He married Tannetje Caljouw on 26 September 1840 at Oost en West Souburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands.²

     Lena Maas was born in 1846 at Koudekerke, Zeeland, The Netherlands.¹ She married Cornelius Van Vlaanderen, son of Pieter Van Vlaanderen and Johanna Suzanna Meijers, on 27 September 1872 at Koudekerke, Zeeland.¹ Lena Maas died before 1910.

     The 1900 census lists Cornelius Van Vlaanderen and Lena, with a daughter Jennie Rose (31) and granddaughter Nellie Rose (8 mo.)²

     Neeltje Maas was born in 1849 at Koudekerke, Zeeland, The Netherlands.¹ She married Peter Van Vlaanderen, son of Pieter Van Vlaanderen and Johanna Suzanna Meijers, on 7 July 1871 at Koudekerke, Zeeland.¹

     The 1900 census lists Peter Van Vlaanderen and Neeltje at 5 Bridge Street (3rd Ward) at Paterson City, Passaic County, NJ, with six children: Cornelius, Nellie, Magdalina, Tina, Suzie, and Bessie.² The 1910 census lists Neeltje Maas at 177 N. 7th Street (1st Ward) at Paterson City, Passaic County, NJ, with three children: Tina, Suzie, and Bessie.³ Married name: Van Vlaanderen.

     Nicolaas Maat was born in September 1832 at 's-Heerenhoek, Zuid Beveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands.^2,3 He married Pieternella Traas on 27 October 1864 at 's-Heer Arendskerke, Zuid Beveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands.²

     Nicolaas Maat and Pieternella Maat immigrated on the Edam, from Rotterdam, arriving 2 May 1893 in New York with three children: Pieter (17), Janna (16) and Johanna (15).
