     The Ferdons came from a French family that had resided for some time in Holland. He came to New Netherland c. 1645, and lived in Gowanus on the farm of Anthony Hulse.2
     On 19 June 1659 Paulus Van der Beeck and Joannes Monjeer De la Montagne appointed guardians of Jacobus the nearly 3 years old son of Tomas Verdon, who intends to remarry. His deceased wife was Barbara Imbroeck.5
     Tomas Verdon intended to marry Jannetje Boonen, widow of Tobias Theunis. Jenneken had four children: Herme Urbanus, 17 years old; Neeltje Urbanus, 15 years; Urbanus Urbanus, 10 years; and Teunis Tobiase, 8 years. Abraham Clock and Evert Duyckingh appointed guardians. Her last husband's name was Tobias Theunis, by whom she had one child (Orphan Court Records.)6 Name variation: Thomas Verdon.2 Name variation: Thomas Fardon.2
