John J Storms was a farm worker at age 11, later he learned the blacksmith trade from James Hopper of Ramsey. He was a logger for a time, using his own horses and later delivered ice to customers in Allendale and Waldwick.² He was a handyman for Peter Pulis Company for 20 years. He was a charter member of the Fardale Fire Co. #4, Mahwah and a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church, the Mahwah Historical Society and the David Ackerman Descendants-1662.²
