Hartman Wessels1,2

M, b. circa 1586
Hartman Wessels was born circa 1586 at Cologne, Rheinland, Germany.1 He married Preyntje (?)1

Family

Preyntje (?) b. c 1590
Children
His wife was also born in Cologne.1
NOTE: It seems unlikely that the children Herman (Hartman), Jannetje and Henrica born 1635 and later, are children of Preijntje. Also Annetje's surname was not Wessels, but Hartmans, she married as Enneke Hartmans, widow of Jan Wessels! It is not clear (but not impossible) that she is a daughter of Hartman Wessels, but Bergen Families (Wessels File) has the following entry (and has her as daughter of Warner Wessels in Warner's (mother Metje Bonen) entry:
Wessels, Herman m. Geertje Rutgers
he d. (poss) before Oct 1670. Geertje Rutgers m. (2) 8 Oct 1670 NYC Ref Ch, Gerrit Huygens de Cleyn.
17 Jan 1671 -- Samuel Edsall in right of Janneken his Wife, Warnaer Wessel Junior, Gelyn Verplanck in right of Hendricktje his Wife, and the aforementioned on the behalf of Harmen Wessells now residing in Holland, all Brothers and Sisters of Harmen Wessells lately deceased, pltfs. contra Gerrit Huygen and Geertie Rutgers late Widdow of the forenamed Harmen Wessells, defts. The Court having viewed and examined the Testament of the sd. Harmen Wessells and Geertie Rutgers, and heard the debates btwixt both parties, do decree and order that the Defts. according to the Tennour of the sd. Will, shall pay to the pltfs. fl. 505. Hollands Monney & to deliver to the pltfs. Coppy of ye Inventory produced in Court, as alsoo a Coppy of the debt booke mentioned in the sd. Inventory, and to pay the Charges of Court Equally betwixt them. (From: Fernow, Berthold, ed., Records of New Amsterdam, 1653-1674, 7 Vols., 1897 (on CD)

This seems to indicate that Janneke (x Samuel Edsall), Hendrikje (x Gelyn Verplanck), Harmen (x Geertje Rutgers), another Harmen, and Warnaer, Jr. are all siblings. It does NOT make the connection to Hartman. In the same file these children are listed as children of Wessel Warnars and (maybe) Metje Boonen. A daughter Henrica has an extensive will in 1701, which is extracted in the Wessels File, and lists two brothers Harmen, a brother Dirck, and (indirectly) a sister Hendrickje (but not Jannetje.)3,4
