He was in 1910 a bridge tender at Washington, Bergen County, NJ.5 Peter was educated in the Bergen County public schools, and at the age of eighteen became a bookkeeper in the chair factory run by his family. He continued in that capacity until 1890, when he purchased the business and successfully conducted it until 1896.
