     Elijah Souther Ewell was born on 30 September 1787 at Scituate, MA.1 He married Ruth Keen Barstow, daughter of James Barstow and Sarah Levitt, on 29 October 1815 at Pembroke, MA.1 Elijah Souther Ewell died on 6 September 1870 at his home at Fulton St., Medford, MA, at age 82.1 He was buried in Cross Street Cemetery in Medford, Bodies and stones removed to Oak Grove Enclosure in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA in 1958.1
