     Casparus Springsteen made a will on 4 June 1740. It was proved 29 July 1740. He was Casparus Springsteen, of Newtown, in Queens County. Names wife Sarah; daughter Maria; son Joost Springsteen, when of age. Executors: father-in-law William Miller, uncle Johanes Colver, and brother-in-law Joost Miller.
Witnesses: Benjamin Fish, Bernardus Bloom, and Cornelius Berrien.²

     Casper Springsteen was born (Konight has c.1664; he would then be 18 when his first child is born.) He married Maria Storm, daughter of Dirck Gorisz Storm and Maria Van Montfort, circa 1682.^1,3,4 Casper Springsteen died on 21 May 1729 at Newtown, NY.^2,5

He was Caspar Springsteen, of Newtown, Queens County. Names wife Mary; son Joris; son Derrick; son Abraham; son David; daughter Gertry Miler. Executors: wife, son Joris, and (half) brother Peter Praw. Witnesses: Robert Field, Samuel Wright, and Josiah Herman.⁷
     Who is this? Geertruyd, bp. 21 Apr 1697, Sleepy Hollow; parents Caspar Springsteen and wife Maria; sp. Dirck Storm and Maria, his wife. BC-Families Springsteen File has her as daughter of Caspar and Maria Storm; she m. Arie Meulenaer (Miller). Miller File has Arie bp. 1721, and no parents for Geertruyt, it seems unlikely this is the same Geertruyt.
     Arie is the son of Willem Miller and Geertruy Springsteen; she is the daughter of Caspar Springsteen and Maria Storm; they marry c. 1704, so this cannot be Geertruy, bp. 1697.^8,9,5 Name variation: Casper Joosts Springsteen.¹⁰

     Catharina Springsteen was from Long Island acc. to her marriage certificate.³ She was baptized on 6 April 1684 at Brooklyn, NY, (DRC) (sp.      Harmanus Springsteen was born on 8 January 1736.² He was baptized on 22 February 1736 at Tappan, NY, (DRC.)³ He married Harmanus Springsteen Claasje Hopper, daughter of Paulus Hoppe and Marritje Quackenbush, (son of Jacob Springsteen and Maretje Blauvelt.)¹ Harmanus Springsteen died between 1783 and 1785.⁴

     Jannetie Jans Springsteen was born in 1667 at New York City.¹ She was baptized on 5 January 1667 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Melchior Casparszen and Elsje Van Ruyvenkamp; father Johannes Casparszen, mother Maria Theunis.)^3,4,5 She (1) married Jacob Kolf on 1 June 1684 at Flatbush, NY, (DRC) (Jacob Kolf to Janetje Johanes.)^6,7 Jannetie Jans Springsteen (2) married Paulus Van der Beek, son of Conrad Van der Beek and Elsje Jans, on 18 December 1695 at New York City.^1,8 (Banns on 22 November 1695.      John Springsteen was born at Rockland County, NY.¹ He married Rachel Van Guelder, daughter of Jacobus Van Gelder and Jannetje Ackerman.

     John was a descendant of Casper Springsteeen, who settled on Manhattan in 1635.
He was wood inspector in New York City for many years when only wood was used for fuel.² John Springsteen lived at 132 Charles Street at Old Greenwich Village (NYC), NY.¹

     Samuel Springsteen was b. on the Mennaer of Cortlant (Westchester County) acc. to his marriage certificate.^1,2 He was baptized circa 15 July 1709 (NY Lutheran Church) by Mr. Kockerthal at William Southerling's in the Highland (parents Melchior Springsten and wife Gertrud; sp. Pieter Migrigri and wife Letischa.)^3,2 He married Janitie de Groot, daughter of Staats Janszen DeGroot and Barbara Springsteen, on 7 February 1719 at Sleepy Hollow, NY, (DRC) (He was Samel Sprencksteen, jm, b. on the Mennaer of Cortlant, liv. in Haverstroo; she Janitie de Groot, jd, b. at Tappan, liv. in Phillips Burgh.)^4,1,2
