     Jan Van Tassel was born on the Minnaer (Manor) of Cortlant acc. to his marriage certificate.2 He was baptized on 24 April 1698 or 1699.1 He married Catharine Buys, daughter of Pieter Buys and Geertje Hoppe, on 21 November 1724 at Tarrytown, NY, (Sleepy Hollow Church.)1,3 Jan Van Tassel died in December 1784.1
