     John D Phillips was born in 1800 at Orange County, NY.² He married Harriet.¹

     The 1855 census lists John D Phillips and Harriet at Ward 16, ED 4 at New York City, with Maria H Howell and 4 other children, his mother Margaret (89, b. Queens County), and two sisters: Sarah Phillips (56) and Margaret Phillips (54), both b. NY. John is listed as b. in NY, Harriet and the children in Orange County.² The 1865 census lists John D Phillips and Harriet at Clarkstown, Rockland County, NY, with his son-in-law and daughter Charles Howell and Maria Howell, and his grandchildren Charles E, Harry, William P and Maria A. Charles E is born in New York, Harry, William, and Maria in Brooklyn. They are also enumerated in Brooklyn (as Rivers.)³ The 1870 census listed John D Phillips in Charles A and Maria H Phillips's household at Clarkstown, NY.⁴

     John D Phillips was born on 20 December 1835 at Haverstraw, NY.¹ He married Annie Laden in 1861.¹ John D Phillips died on 27 September 1918 at Haverstraw, NY.¹ He was buried on 30 September 1918 in Mt. Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw.¹

     John D Phillips and Annie had two daughters: Emma J. (b. 18
Aug 1861) and Minnie A. (b. 30 Oct 1863).²

     John Evertson Phillips Esq. was born on 20 March 1805 at Phillipsburg, NJ. He married Elizabeth Talman Wisner, daughter of Henry Gale Wisner Esq. and Sarah Talman, on 1 March 1832 at Goshen, Orange County, NY, (at the home of her father.)² John Evertson Phillips Esq. died on 17 December 1841. He was buried in St. James Episcopal Burying Ground in Goshen.^2,3

     He graduated from Williams College, 1825 and studied law with Henry Wisner. After admission to the bar he was partner with Wisner who was also his father-in-law.¹

     John W Phillips was born on 11 March 1862.¹ He married Nellie Lord.¹

     John Wesley Phillips was born in April 1829.¹ He married Sarah Hill on 11 November 1852.¹ John Wesley Phillips died after 1900.¹

     John Wesley Phillips and Sarah had two more children: Daniel (b. 22 Dec 1855) and Mary E. (b. c. 1866).²
     John and Sarah are in Stony Point at least from the 1870 through the 1900 census.¹

     Joseph Phillips was born on 3 June 1664 at Brookhaven, Suffolk County, NY. He died in June 1739 at Setauket, Suffolk County, NY.

     Leray DeLamott Phillips was born on 4 November 1819 at Ithaca, Tompkins County, NY.

     Lucy Ann Phillips was born in 1828. She married Russel Howe Cecil, son of Zachariah White Cecil and Julia Howe. Lucy Ann Phillips died in 1913.

     Maria H Phillips was born in 1831 at New York.^3,4 She married Charles A Howell, son of Ebenezer Howell and Elizabeth Johnson.³

     The 1860 census lists Charles A Howell and Maria H at Clarkstown, Rockland County, NY, with Charles A and Harvey F (3 and 1 yr, pres. his children), and Elizabeth Howell (65, pres. his mother.)⁴ The 1865 census lists Charles A Rivers and Mary at Ward 3 at Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, with his children Chas., Harry, William and Mary (resp. 8, 6, 4, and 1, all b. Brooklyn), and a servant Mary Landers (30, b. Ireland). Charles and his wife are listed as b. in Dutchess Cty, NY. They are also enumerated in Rockland COunty (as Howell.)⁵ The 1870 census lists Charles A Howell and Maria H at Clarkstown, NY, with Charles A, Harvey F, William P, Maria A, Irene and Martin E (resp. 13, 11, 6, 5, 3, and 1 yr old), and John D Phillips and Harriet Phillips (71 and 62yr.)⁶ The 1875 census lists Charles Howell and Maria at Clarkstown, NY, with their children Charles A, Harvey F, William P, Maria A, Irene, Martin E, Frank A and Fredrick E. Charles and Maria are listed as born in Orange County, Charles Jr. as born in New York, and all the rest of the children as born in Kings County.⁷ The 1880 census lists Charles R Howell and Maria H at ED 48 at New City, Rockland County, NY, with their children Charles A, Harvey F, William P, Maria A, Irene, Eugene M, Frank A and Fredrick E.⁸ The 1892 census lists Charles A Rivers and Mary at Ward 22, ED 21 at Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, with their children Chas., Harry, William, Mary, Irene, Eugene, Frank O and Frederick C, with the last name Rivers.⁹ Name variation: Maria W Charles (The correspondence in the file Howell file has her name as Maria W Charles, but the census seems to indicate Phillips.)³ Married name: Maria Howell.^3,2 Name variation: Maria H Howell.⁸ Name variation: Mary Rivers.⁵

     Mary Phillips was born circa 1803 at Rockland County, NY.¹ She died on 9 November 1887.¹ She was buried in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Stony Point, adjoining United Methodist Church, prev. known as St. George's or Crick Church.¹

     Mary Phillips was born circa 1835.¹ She married ? Martin.¹ She died before 22 February 1889 as she did not share in the partition action. She is however not listed in the 1855 and 1860 census with either of her sons.¹

     Mary Phillips had prob. two sons
1. George Martin, b 1854, living with his grandparents in the 1855 NY census; prob. d. bef. 1860
2. Harrison Martin, b. 1858, living with his grandparents in 1860 census. He is mentioned in the partition in May 1889.²

     Mary Phillips was born on 24 June 1848 at Rockland County, NY.^1,3 She married William H Hedges on 22 May 1870.^1,3 Mary Phillips died on 2 May 1923.¹ She was buried in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Stony Point.¹

     Mary Phillips and William had a son Delmer, b. 15 Oct 1872.³ Married name: Hedges.

     Miranda Orcelia Phillips was born on 26 October 1813 at Marcellus, NY.¹ She (1) married Joel Edwin Hawley, son of Stephen Hawley, Jr. and Mehetabel Hotchkiss, on 14 September 1829 at Ithaca, Tompkins County, NY.¹ Miranda Orcelia Phillips (2) married Albert Atkins on 14 April 1866.¹ Miranda Orcelia Phillips died in 1910.¹ She was buried on 25 March 1910 in Hillside.¹

     Miranda was born in the little town of Marcellus, NY and taken to Ithaca NY, when she was 6 months old, by her father and mother. Her father, Dr George W. Phillips practiced medicine in Ithaca many years before moving to St. Louis, MO.
Miranda first married Dr. Joel Edwin Hawley and had all of her children by him. Later, after he died, she married Albert Atkins. Miranda and Albert were married by the Rev. Dr. William Wisner at the 1st Presbyterian Church, Ithaca, NY. This was a second marriage for both. Albert already had a son Thomas, by his first marriage. They lived on the Atkins Farm, 'Long Hill', Middletown, CT. The farm house was later torn down and a new one was built by Thomas Atkins. Miranda is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside, NJ, in the Hawley-Drake lots.¹ Note: The spelling of Miranda Orcelia differs from the HR. The way it is spelled here is the way it is continually spelled in all notes of the Hawley Family. Married name: Hawley. Married name: Atkins.

     Naomi Jane Phillips was born on 8 July 1831.¹ She married Benjamin D Evernham, son of Isaac Everingham and Emaline Hall. Naomi Jane Phillips died on 7 December 1874.¹

     Married name: Evernham.

     Nelson Phillips was born on 4 November 1820 at Stony Point, NY.¹ He died on 22 February 1889 at Stony Point, NY.¹ He was buried on 25 February 1889 in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Stony Point, adjoining United Methodist Church, prev. known as St. George's or Crick Church.¹

     Nelson Phillips was born on 19 October 1855 at Stony Point, NY, (Konight has 1856.)^1,3 He married Sarah Frances Peterson, daughter of David Tuttle Peterson and Catherine Babcock, on 10 December 1884.^1,3 Nelson Phillips died on 23 December 1928 at Stony Point, NY.^1,3 He was buried on 25 December 1928 in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Stony Point.^1,2

     Nelson Phillips and Sarah had also two daughters: Minnie (b. 24 Oct 1894) and Kathryn B. (b. 28 Oct 1897).³ Name variation: Nelson H Phillips.²

     Nelson H Phillips was born on 2 March 1902.¹ He (1) married Bessie.² Nelson H Phillips (2) married Ethel L. Caddoo on 14 July 1956.¹ He died on 21 April 1971.¹

     Nelson H Phillips had two children:
1. Marvin, b. c. 1924
2. Doris, b c. 1927.³

     Nettie Phillips married Milton DeWitt, son of John V DeWitt and Jane Dalrymple, on 12 June 1876.¹

     Married name: DeWitt.

     Nettie S Phillips was born on 24 August 1853.¹ She married Edgar Dykeman on 2 May 1872.¹ Nettie S Phillips died on 29 January 1942.¹

     Nettie S Phillips and Edgar had also a son Fred, b. 8 Sep 1876; d. 29 Aug 1896.¹ Married name: Dykeman.

     Nicholas Rose Phillips was born circa 1904.² He married Jessie Carmichael, b. 1909.¹ He died on 2 February 1959.³

     Rachel Phillips was born on 31 July 1826.¹ She married William Owens.^2,1 Rachel Phillips died on 8 February 1918.¹

     Rachel and her husband William Owens are living with her parents James and Susanna in 1850.³ Rachel Phillips and William had three more children, George, Susanna, and Justien A.¹ Married name: Owens.

     Richard Phillips was born on 25 February 1800 at Rockland County, NY.¹ He died on 26 October 1876.¹ He was buried in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Stony Point, adjoining United Methodist Church, prev. known as St. George's or Crick Church.¹

     Richard Phillips was born on 15 May 1845 at West Haverstraw, NY.¹ He married Mary E Johnson.¹ Richard Phillips died on 16 October 1869.¹ He was buried in Phillips-Knapp Family Burial Ground in Thiells.¹

     He was in the Civil War, Union Soldier Pvt Co D, 17th NY Regt. He enlisted at North Haverstraw.¹ Richard Phillips and Mary had two children, Ira and Georgianna.²
     Hiram Phillips filed a complaint for partition of the Homestead Farm of his parents, after the death of his brother Nelson, who died unmarried in Feb 1889. Hiram is entitled to 1/5 interest. Four other siblings must have left offspring by that time
1. Sarah's nine surviving children Hiram Knapp, George Knapp, Mary Ann Waldron, Charlotte Conklin, Abigail Springsteen, Eveline Sarah Disbrow, Margaret Belding and William Knapp receive a 1/45th interest
2. Daniel's three surviving children, John D Phillips, Samuel Phillips and Hannah Phillips, receive 1/25th interest; and four surviving grandchildren (two each of Sarah Abrams and Richard Phillips) receive 1/50th
3. Catherine's six surviving children Nelson March, George March, Charlotte Babcock, Catherine King, Caroline Holt and Elmira Gurnee, and Hannah Thompson, received 1/35th. It is unclear, who Hannah Thompson is.²

     Robert K Phillips was born on 11 April 1837 at New York.¹ He married Mary Louisa Weyant on 3 January 1861.¹ Robert K Phillips died on 11 September 1888.¹ He was buried in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Stony Point.¹

     Robert K Phillips and Mary had eight children: Elsworth (b. c. 1861), Horatio (b. c. 1865, NY), Ward (b. c. 1868, NY), Harvey (b. c. 1873, NY), Clark Harry (b. 29 Dec 1875, MA), Bertha May (b. Oct 1878, MA), Chauncey Depew (b. 9 Feb 1881, MA), and Florence (b. c. 1883, MA).²

     Samuel Phillips was born on 12 June 1840 at Rockland County, NY.¹ He married Martha.¹ He died after February 1889.¹

     Sara Virginia Phillips was born on 14 August 1871.¹ She married Charles Weed.¹ She died on 23 March 1959 at Norwalk, CT.¹

     Sarah Phillips was born on 26 February 1797.^1,2 She married Robert Knapp, son of Libbeus Knapp and Rachel Storms, circa 1815 at Haverstraw, NY, (at the residence of Rev. Robert Burns.)^4,5 Sarah Phillips died on 23 February 1879.^1,2 She was buried in Phillips-Knapp Family Burial Ground in Thiells.⁶

     Sarah Phillips and Robert had also a daughter Hannah, who died 8 Aug 1832, at age 13.^7,2 Married name: Knapp.

     Sarah Phillips was born on 1 February 1856 at Stony Point, NY.¹ She married Edward Abrams on 7 April 1872.¹ Sarah Phillips died on 30 March 1885.¹

     Sarah Phillips and Edward had one son Edward, b. 22 Mar 1885; d. 28 Jul 1885.²

     Thomas Phillips had two more children:
