     Sara Cathrine Chandler was born on 19 June 1883 at Irvington, NJ.^1,2 She (1) married Lewis Morgan Sandford in 1888 at Belleville, Essex County, NJ, (Alt. date and place: c. 1903, Harrison, NJ.)¹ Sara Cathrine Chandler (2) married David Wilson Bataille, son of Edward Joseph Bataille and Harriet Morse, on 30 August 1899 at Irvington, NJ.^1,3 Sara Cathrine Chandler died on 7 March 1955 at Lyndhurst, NJ.^1,4 She was buried on 8 March 1955 in Crest View Cemetery in Clifton.¹

     Sara was born to James Chandler and Harriet Pritchard (there is no proof of a marriage). James remarried to Margeret Hardgrove and Sara was raised by them. Harriet either gave up the child to the birthfather or died in childbirth. When Sara was 16, she married David Wesley Bataille. They had 2 children, Walter and Martha. She separated from David (there is no proof of divorce) and married Lewis Morgan Sandford (there is no proof of marriage) and had two more children, James and Mildred. Sara and Lewis raised Martha, James, Mildred and Lewis's son Lewis from a first marriage (Walter was raised by Sara's parents Margeret and James Chandler). Lewis died in 1915 of Tuberculosis leaving Sara to raise three children alone. Sara moved in with her daughter Martha and lived with her until she died in 1955.¹
     Sara left a list of births in her belongings when she died. This lists all her grand children. It was dated June 1941. All The Bataille's are Walter Bataille's children, the Elseys are Mildred Sandford's children, and the Hills are Martha's children.

     Walter B Chandler was born in 1826 at Clinton (Irvington), Essex County, NJ.¹ He married Phoebe C Gardner, daughter of Levi Gardner and Cathrine Supenor, circa 1848 at Irvington, NJ.^1,2 Walter B Chandler died on 15 March 1909 at Irvington, Essex County, NJ.¹ He was buried on 17 March 1909 in Clinton Cemetery in Irvington.¹

     Walter lived on Lyons farm (a dairy farm) in Clinton, NJ, which is now Irvington. A bank stands at one corner of the farm in the middle of Irvington.¹

     Eliza Chapman was born in 1796.¹ She married Samuel Drake, son of Elijah Drake and Abigail Stoddard, in 1816.¹ Eliza Chapman died in 1859.¹

     Ellen T Chapman married Thomas Gordon Graham in 1829.¹

     Sally Chapman married John B Kortright, son of Martin Kortright and Nancy Brown, on 18 February 1846.¹ Sally Chapman died on 16 May 1853.¹

     Mary Jane Chardon was born on 14 June 1870 at Patton, PA.^4,3 She married Alexander Marlett, son of Harry Marlett and Elizabeth Mcguire, in 1885.¹ Mary Jane Chardon died on 10 June 1944 at Gallitzen, PA, at age 74.4.26.^1,3 She was buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Coupon (Gallitzin Twp.)³

     Benjamin Charlston and Susan Charlston was listed as a resident in Rachel Matonie's household in the census of 1850 at Harrington Township, Bergen County, NJ, with (an unknown value.)¹ The 1855 census lists Benjamin Charlston at Harrington Township, Bergen County, New Jersey, with household consisting of 3 colored males and 1 colored female, and 1 male colored child 5-16. A Charles Jackson is two lines above (1 colored male, 1 colored female), and they live near several Ferdon families.³
