     Sarah Elma Hancon was in 1920 a school teacher.2 A splendid concert was given at the Haywood Studios in the Columbus Trust Co. building last night by two pupils of Mr. Haywood - Mr. Emil Asker, a tenor of NYC and Miss Elma Hancon, a sorprano of Cornwall. The concert was listened to by a numerous audience and very greatly enjoyed.
Two numbers from Handel's oratorio, Jephtha, were among those most highly appreciated. Mr. Asker sang Deeper and Deeper Still and Miss Hancon, Farewell Ye Limper Streams and Floods.
As a closing duet, the two singers gave the song, Edenland, by Dana.Their voices blended beautifully and the duet was one of the prettiestheard here.
1927 - 16 Jan the varied program of classics and lighter composition featured at the regular Sunday night musical broadcast by WPG from the auditorium of Atlantic City HS continues to evoke letters from radio fans, WPG reports. Names wife Jannettie; children Hans (eldest, has a son Gerrit), Rem, John, Peter, Daniel and Geritt (unmarried), Janettie Vanderveer, and Antye Van Dyn. Sons to be executors. Witnesses: Peter Montfoort, Peter Montfoort, Jr., and Peter Berrien.8,3,7
     There is some confusion about the order of the sons: BC-Families has Jan (son of Jenneke), b. 1644, m. (1) to Maritje Adriaens, and (2) to Willempje Van Boerum; but also has Jan (son of Reymerigh, no dates) m. to Marietje. The will lists Gerrit (m. 1685, so b. bef. 1665), Peter (does not marry, and died in 1692), and Jan (m. 1695 (so b. bef. 1675) together; and Volckert (m. in 1681, so b. bef. 1661) separately. It is unclear in the will, whether Volkert is a son of the first or of the second marriage, he gets two cows, as a remembrance of his mother, and nothing else; the bulk of the estate goes to the sons Gerrit, Peter, and John (youngest son)
