     Gerrit Abrahams was baptized on 31 May 1700 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Gerrit Viele and Gerritje Viele, wife of Aernout Viele.)¹

     Hendrick Abrahams was baptized on 28 September 1662 at New York City (DRC) (no sponsors listed; father Abraham Rycke, mother Grietie Hendricks.)^3,2,1 He married Catharine Van Tassel, daughter of Jan Cornelisz Van Tassel and Annetje Alberts.³

     Hendrick Abrahams and Catharine lived at Cortlandt, Westchester County, NY.³
     While Hendrick adopted the surname Lent, none of the children are baptized with that surname; Hendrick is either Hendrick Abrahams or Hendrick Rycke at the baptisms. Name variation: Hendrick Abramsen Lent.³ Name variation: Van Lent.

     Jacob Abrahams was baptized on 18 October 1643 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Borger Joris and Geertie Rederhas; father Abraham Ryck, mother Grietie Hendricks.)^1,2

     Jacob Abrahams was baptized on 2 June 1673 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Andries Jochemszen, Judith Verlet, and Geertie Theunis; father Andries Jochemszen, mother Francyntie Andries.)^1,2

     Jacob and Rachel were twins. The father is listed as Andries Jochemszen, but that is no doubt in error.^1,2

     Jan Abrahams was baptized on 25 July 1651 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Jochem Jochemszen and Tryntie Jans; father Abraham Rycke, mother not listed.)^1,2 He married Sara Schouten, widow of Paulus Vanderbeek in 1691.³

     Konight had a note in pencil that he married Marg., daughter of Jacob Krankeydt. However, it also said: see bp. NYDC p.263, where Sara Schoute, wife of Jan Ryke is sponsor at the baptism of Andries, son of Abraham Ryke and Margriet Buytenhuyse.⁴ Name variation: Jan Ryke.²

     Jesaias Abrahamszen was baptized on 3 November 1669 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Andries Jochemszen and Celitie Fredricks; father Abraham Lubbertszen, mother Francyntie Andries.)^2,1

     Marinus Jacob Abrahamse was born in 1837 at Wissenkerke, Noord Beveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands.¹ He married Maria Filius, daughter of Cornelis Filius and Anna van der Heijden, on 1 August 1860 at Wissenkerke, Zeeland.¹

     His parents were Hendrik Abrahamse and Anna Flipse.¹

     Martin Abrahamszen married Maritie Simons.¹

     Marytje Abrahams was from the Manhatans when she married.² She was baptized on 21 February 1649 at New York City (DRC) (sponsor: Hester Gerrits; father Abraham Rycke, mother not listed.)^4,5,6 She married Sybout Herckx Crankheit, son of Herck Sybouts and Wyntjie Theunis, in April 1669 at New York City (DRC) (He was Sybout Harckszen, from the Manhatans; she Marytje Abrahams, jd from the Manhatans.)^1,2

     NOTE: BC-Families Crankheyt and Van Tassel Files have her as an unknown person , daughter of Abraham (Rycken) Lent and Geertie Hendricks. Konight has her as Maria, daughter of Abraham De La Noy and Marritie Lubbers. This would make sense, as she names her first daughter Marritie, and does not have a daughter Geertje. Both are bp. in New York; Abraham De La Noy also mentions a daughter Maryken in his will. At the baptims of her children, no Ryckers or Lents are sponsors; but neither are De La Noys.^7,1,5,8,9,4 Name variation: Maritie A Lent.¹⁰ Name variation: Marytie Rycke Lent.⁴ Married name: Crankheit.

     Nathaniel Abrahams was baptized on 4 October 1663 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Barthel Manicus and Grietie Manicus; father Abraham Lubbertszen, mother Francyntie Andries.)^1,2

     Rachel Abrahams was baptized on 2 June 1673 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Andries Jochemszen, Judith Verlet, and Geertie Theunis; father Andries Jochemszen, mother Francyntie Andries.)¹

     Jacob and Rachel were twins. The father is listed as Andries Jochemszen, but that is no doubt in error.^1,2

     Ryck Abrahams married Tryntje Hercksen Krankhuyt, daughter of Herck Sybouts and Wyntjie Theunis.^2,3 Ryck Abrahams died before 28 March 1723.⁴

     Ryck Abrahamson Lent made a will on 31 March 1720. It was proved 28 Mar 1723. He was of the Manor of Cortland in Westchester. He mentions his eldest son Abraham; his son Harek; the children of his dec'd son Ryck; the children of his dec'd daughter Elizabeth Hyatt; his daughter Catherine, wife of Abraham Jones; and his daughter Margaret, wife of Thomas Benson. Executors: sons Abraham and Harek.^4,5 Name variation: Ryck Abrahamson Lent.^2,6

     Saertie Abrahams was baptized on 5 February 1659 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Andries Jochemszen and his wife; and Jochem Andrieszen; father Abraham Lucaszen, mother Francyntie Andries.)^1,2

     Sara Abrahamsz was born in 1627 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands.¹ She married Jacob Steendam.¹ (Banns on 13 November 1649 at Amsterdam. He was Jacob Jacobsz Steendam, 34 yrs old, from Campen (?); she Sara Abrahamsz, 22 yrs old, from Amsterdam; her witnesses were her father Abraham Fransse and Angenietje Fransse.)¹

     Sara Abrahamsz and Jacob had two children bp. in Amsterdam. They must have come to New Netherland in 1652 (Sara is a sponsor in Dec); they have three children bp. NYDC, and then go back to Amsterdam, and have two more children bp. there:

     Cornelis and Angenietje joined the Tappan Church on 27 Mar 1746.¹ Angenietje Abrams and Peleg had two children, both bp. NYDC: Jacomyntje (bp. 12 Feb 1758; parents Peleg Borling and Agnietje Abrahams; sp. Arnout Abrahams and wife Agnietje Bergen); and Abraham (bp. 15 Nov 1767; parents Peleg Borling and Agnietje Abrahams; sp. Pieter Dory and Margrietje Ekkers jd.^5,6 Her parents were Aernout Abrams and Angenietje Bergen.¹

     Dorothy Abrams was born in 1920.¹ She married James Moos.¹ Dorothy Abrams died on 9 December 2008 at Haledon, Passaic County, NJ.¹ She was buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.¹

     Dot was an executive in the financial district of New York City for many years and later became a professional genealogist until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the DAR, a founder and past president of the Genealogical Society of Bergen County, a life member of the Association of Blauvelt Descendants and a member of the David Ackerman Descendants.¹
