     John Patrick Durham's parents died about 1910. John and his brother William went to Canada to live with relatives and John came back to Hoboken about 1917, when he married Cathrine V. Peters. His sisters were sent to a convent in Hoboken until they were old enough to work. Mary, Margaret and Jule were never adopted.
John had four children: Irene (1919), Cathrine (Cassy, 1921), John Jr. (1928), and Thomas (1933). John's wife Catherine died of cancer in 1955, John died in 1979. They are both buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Kearny, NJ.5
     NJ Birth and Baptisms (FamilySearch) has slightly different dates and names: John Thomas Durham, son of Thomas Durham and Mary Haggerty, was b. 6 Mar 1895, bp. 24 Mar 1895 at St. Joseph's in Hoboken; married Catherine Peters on 22 Jul 1917 at St. Joseph's. It is unclear whether this represents a different person or not.6,4
