Marija Meulemans; father Nijcolacs de Selleluit, mother Juffr. Marija Meulemans.)³ She married Jan Gerrits Van Couwenhoven, son of Gerret Wolphertsen Van Couvenhoven and Altie Cornelisen Cool, in 1670.^1,2,4

     Laurence De Sille was born in 1572 at Namur, Belgium.² He married Walburge Mermune.² Laurence De Sille died in 1637 at The Hague, The Netherlands.²

     Nicasius De Sille was born on 23 September 1610 at Arnhem, Gelderland, The Netherlands.^1,2 He (1) married Cornelia Meulmans before April 1639 at The Netherlands.^1,2 Nicasius De Sille (2) married Tryntje Crougers on 26 May 1655 at New Amsterdam (DRC) (He was Nicasius de Silla from Aernham; she Tryntje Crougers from de Hage. They separated in Sep 1668.)^1,3,2 Nicasius De Sille died between 1 January 1674 and 1 March 1674.¹

     Nicasius De Sille and Cornelia had two more children, both b. Maastricht or Wyk:
1. Laurence (probably stayed in the Netherlands; he married a daughter of Capt. Martinus Cregier)
2. Petrus.² Nicasius De Sille immigrated in 1653 He came to New Netherland in 1653, and became First Counselor to Director General Stuyvesant. He was the second most important man in the colony.^4,2,5 Name variation: Nicholas De Salee.⁶

     Nicasius De Sille was born on 3 August 1543 at Malines, Belgium.^1,2 He married Genovefere de Romaignan.² Nicasius De Sille was buried on 22 August 1600 at Amsterdam in the Old Church (acc. to Kip and Callaghan in the choir of the Red Church.)^3,4,1,5

     He was the Attorney General of Amsterdam. He had married (2) Johanna Thrello, and had two daughters with her.^3,2

     Petrus De Sille was born at Maastricht.¹ He died on 8 December 1663 in Nieuwer Amstel on the South River in New Netherlands.¹

     Walburg de Silla was born on 30 November 1639 at Maastricht, The Netherlands, (from Mastricht at marriage.)^2,3 She (1) married Frans Cregier, son of Martin Cregier and Elizabeth Janse, at New Amsterdam.^4,5,2 (Banns on 29 February 1660 at DRC, New York City. He was Frans Kregier, from Borcken; she Walburg de Silla from Mastricht.)³ Walburg de Silla (2) married Willem Bogardus, son of Everardus Bogardus and Anneke Jans.^5,6,2 (license on 13 May 1669 (William Bogardus and Walbarger De Silla, widow of Francus Cregier, dec'd.)⁷)

     Willem and Walburg were listed in the NYDC member list as "Willem Bogardus and his wife Walburg De Silla (member #348-9, name #440-1.)⁸
     The children of Willem Bogardus and Walburg de Silla are also baptised in NYDC. Name variation: Walburge De Salee.⁹ Name variation: Waeburg de Sille.⁵ Married name: Creiger. Married name: Bogart.

     Andries Van Spangien was baptized on 11 May 1653 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Jan Francisco and Susanna Pieters, Negroes; father Emanuel Van Spangien, mother not listed.)¹

     Manuel de Spangie died before 1681.¹

     He was manumitted from slavery on 17 Feb 1646 by Philip Jensen Ringo for 300 carolus guilders. He received a landgrant on 18 Jan 1651, which was confirmed by Governor Nicholls on 19 Oct 1667. His son and heir Manuel Manuelson deeded the property on 11 Apr 1681 to Jacob Stiles. It may have been a descendant Manuel D. Spaynies, who deeded land to the deacons of the NYDRC on 20 Apr 1780.¹

     Elizabeth De Spitzer married Arent Putman, son of Johannes Putman.¹

Church) (by The Rev. H.C. McBride.) Alice Lavinia DeVoe died on 2 April 1871 at Newark, Essex County, NJ. She was buried on 4 April 1871 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Newark.¹

     Augusta Devoe was born in 1839.¹ She married James W Perkins in 1865.¹

     Benjamin DeVoe married Sarah Bevier.¹

     NOTE: Benjamin (1) (who married Sarah Bevier, and was listed as the father of John Devoe by Mary DeWitt), and Benjamin (2) who married Letitia Holmes, have the same number (1121) in the DeVeaux Genealogy, but are clearly of different generations. On pg. 186 Dr. Benjamin (1) was b. 1805, described as the fifth and youngest child, and married Sarah Bevier, a cousin to his mother. They had 5 children (but no John), and he died in 1859, and his widow remarried with Wm. Kilmer. On pg. 191 Benjamin (2) was b. 1770 in Somerstown, married Letitia Holmes. He moved later to Owasco. He had 10 children (among them a John, who is not followed further), and died in 1819. His widow remarried Abraham van Houten. Benjamin (1) could be a son of Elijah (pg. 182, #1120) and Elizabeth Gonzales, daughter of Manuel Gonzales and Sarah Bevier; Benjamin (2) of Thomas (pg. 163, #432) and Hannah. John Devoe is listed as son of Benjamin (2) and Letitia.^2,3

     Benjamin DeVoe was born in 1770 at Somerstown, Westchester County, NY.¹ He married Letitia Holmes.¹ Benjamin DeVoe died in 1819.¹

     Chrystina De Vouw was born at Philipsburgh (Tarrytown), NY.³ She married Joachim Van Weert, son of Gerrit Van Weert and Cathalyntje Conklin, on 12 December 1724 at Tarrytown, NY, (Sleepy Hollow Church) (He was Joghem Van Weert, jm; she Crestena de Vouw, jd, Both b. and liv. in Phillips Burgh.)^1,3

     Chrystina De Vouw and Joachim had three more children, bp. DRC Tarrytown:

     Cornelia Sarah De Voe was born on 4 October 1830.¹ She married Cornelius D Ackerman, son of David D Ackerman and Agnes Doremus.¹ Cornelia Sarah De Voe died in 1863.¹

     Cornelius DeVoo was born in 1748.² He married Mary Rudder.²

     Daniel De Veaux was baptized in 1698 at Harlem. He married Margaret Colyer, daughter of Jurian Colyer and Lysbeth Van der Hoeven, on 24 August 1714 at New York City.¹

     Daniel DeVoo III was born in 1716 at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ.¹ He married Sarah Mapes, daughter of Jonathan Mapes and Abigail Corey, in 1739 at Fordham, Westchester County, NY.² Daniel DeVoo III died in 1773.¹

     David DeVoo was born in 1742.² He married Mary Storms.²

     Demarest De Voe was born on 24 February 1884 at New Jersey.² He married Caroline Veldran, daughter of James Richard Veldran and Cecelia Emily Thompson, in 1910.^1,2 Demarest De Voe died on 8 November 1950 at Lakeland, FL.²
