He was Barent Janszen, jm from Midwout; she Marritie Brouwers, wid. of Jacob Pieterszen, both living here.)²

     Barent Van Tielburg was possibly named as executor in Adam Brouwer's will dated 22 January 1691/92.^1,3,4,5
     BC-Families has Barent Jansen as son of Jan Theuniszen van Tilburg in Jan's entry, but in Barent's entry no parents are listed. In Jan's entry it cites a will (with children Peter, Barent, Johannes, Jacob, Isaac and Abraham), but gives no reference. Konight does not have a son Barent for Jan. A Barent Van Tilburg is sponsor for one of Pieter Van Tilburg's children.^6,7

     Barent Janszen was from Stockholm when he married.² He married Christyntie Claes on 15 September 1641 at New York City (DRC) (He was Barent Janszzen, jm from Stockholm; she Styntie Pieters, jd as above.)^2,1

     Claes Jansen was from Purmesendt (Purmerend, The Netherlands) when he married.^2,1,3,4 He married Annatje Cornelis, daughter of Cornelis Van Vorst and Vrouwtje Ides, at New York City (DRC.)^1,5 (Banns on 11 November 1656. He was Claes Janszen van Purmesendt; she Anneken Cornelis, van Voorst.)^6,7,4,8,1 Claes Jansen Kuyper died in November 1688 in Ahasymus (now Jersey City.)^9,4,3,6,10 He was buried on 30 November 1688 in Bergen, in the church ("Claes Jansen Kuyper.")^6,9,10

     Claes Jansen lived in 1655 at Brooklyn, NY.⁴ He was a cooper and tobacco planter at Paulus Hook, NJ.⁷
     Claes Jansen Van Permerend emigrated to America from Holland in 1647(?). He married Ann Van Vorst (sister of Ida) on 11 Nov 1656. They lived in Harsimus until his death in 1726 (Old Bergen Cemetery Dutch Church). Claes was later known as Kuyper because he was a cooper by trade. He owned land including the present Nyack 708 acres.
     A Claes Jans, wheelright, came in 1659 on the "Beaver" with his wife and infant child; most people assume he went back to the Netherlands, and this is his return trip. However, see NYG&B (Vol. 65, pg. 27-30) for the credible suggestion that this Claes Jans was returning to the Netherlands in 1659, one months after baptising his son Cornelis on 21 March 1659.^4,11,12
     NOTE: Some sources assume a marriage of Claes Jansen to Pietartie Brackhoengie, it is unclear, why.
     The time frame between Tryntie's baptism in 1657 and the return on the Beaver in Apr 1659 seems very tight. The second child Cornelis was baptized in Mar 1659 in NYC.
     He is not listed as a widower in the marriage record with Annetje (Claes Janszen van Purmesendt; Anneke Cornelis van Voorst)
     Some people assume that the passengerlist of the Beaver is a return trip, but that would mean that the first child Trijntje did not go back with them, as Claes is listed with his wife and a nursing child. (A Claes Jansz married Aeltje Ydes (banns) on 23 Mar 1653 ¹³; they have a son Claes on 18 Jul 1658 ¹⁴, no other children)
     Most sources only have 11 children for Claes and Annetje

     Bergen Families (Van Vorst File) has Pietartie as widower of Claes, daughter of Cornelis Lambertson Cool. The Cole File has no such person. Claas and Pieterje don't seem to have had children.^{11,15,4,6,16,17,18,19}
     Cooper file had a daughter Judith, without dates, this is not in Konight, nor in BC-Families Cooper File. A Judith Claessen is bp. NYDC 13 Oct 1683, father Claes Janszen, but mother Marritie Jans (sponsors: Johannes Van Huchtenburg, Carsten Luurzen, Elisabeth ??????, Tryn Jans.)^20,8,21 Name variation: Claes Jansen Van Permerend.⁴ Name variation: Claes Jansen Kuyper.^6,3,20 Name variation: Claes Jansen Cooper.⁴ Name variation: John Pottagie (but that is probably not true, and the name belongs to a totally different Claes Jansen.¹¹)

     Dirck Janszen was Van Deventer when he married.^2,3 He married Marytje Dircks, daughter of Dirck Weygerts and Tryn Dircks, on 7 October 1660 at New York City (DRC) (He was Dirck Janszen Van Deventer; she Marytje Dircks, from Hoorn.)^4,3,2 Dirck Janszen died before 8 July 1684.¹

     Dirck Janszen made a will on 6 May 1678. It was proved 8 Jul 1684. Dirck Van Clyffe and Peter Stoutenbergh confirmed as executors. He was Dirck Jans Van de Venter, of New York, mariner (but listed under Smith). Names son John Dircksen (a minor), Mr. Dirck Vander Cliff and Mr Peter Stoutenbergh to be overseers and guardians; son-in-law Jarvis Marshall, and daughter Cornelia, his wife. Signed and sealed on board ye Sloop called the New York, riding at anchor before the town of New Castle, in Delaware. Witnesses: Captain G. Cantivell, Jan Comellisen, Claas Dietloops, Ephraim Hermans.      On 12 Mar 1770 a piece of land was sold by John J. Ludlow of Acquackanonk. One of the bounding properties was Lot #10, which formerly belonged to Johannis Paulisse Deceased, now in possession of Barn’t Speer.
