NOTE: Acc. to the Bergen County Families (VandeWater File) and others both Lysbeth (1670) and Elizabeth (1667) marry Johannes Poulesse/Paulus of Esopus on 4 Jul 1695. However it seems unlikely that this was the daughter of Jacobus
Lysbeth (daughter of Hendrick) and Johannes have no daughter Engeltje; Elizabeth is mentioned in the will of Hendrick's wife Margriet as her deceased daughter, wife of Johannes Poulisse; and all of the witnesses to the baptisms of Elizabeth's children belong to Hendrick's family. She and Johannes have a son Albertus in Sep 1712
Lysbeth (daughter of Jacobus) is married to John Quitance before Mar 1712, when letters of administration of his father-in-law estate are granted.5,8,9,6 Name variation: Lysbeth Van de Water.1,6 Married name: Pauluzen. Married name: Quitans. Married name: Heas.

Hendrick Van de Water1

Hendrick Van de Water was baptized on 6 September 1637 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands, (DRC (New Church)) (sponsors: Mayken Van Water; father Jan van Water, mother Aerjaentje Jans.)2 He married Margriet van der Meullen on 21 April 1662 at New York City (DRC) (He was Hendrick Van de Water, jm from Amsterdam; she Margariet Van der Meulen, jd from Rotterdam.)1,3,4 Hendrick Van de Water died before 1697 as his wife was a widow.5

Family

Margriet van der Meullen d. b 6 Mar 1724/25
Children
His parents are Jan van de Water and Aerjaentje Jans, not Benjamin Van de Water and Elisabeth Meerman, as the Van de Water File suggests.2,6,1
Van de Water File has place of birth as Rotterdam, but with a baptism in Amsterdam, that seems unlikely.2
NOTE: Stockholm File had most of Hendrick's children assigned to Jacobus. None of them had a son Benjamin, however, so it seems unlikely that that is true. The children have been re-assigned to Hendrick, according to the Bergen County Families (VandeWater File.)6,7,8

Hendrick Van de Water1

M
Hendrick Van de Water (1) married an unknown woman.1 He (2) married Susanna Ketelhuyn, daughter of David Ketelhuyn and Johanna Bratt, on 31 December 1721 at New York City (DRC.)1,2

Family

Susanna Ketelhuyn b. 11 Aug 1700
Children
  • Johanna Van de Water1 b. 3 Apr 1723
  • David Van de Water1 b. 3 Feb 1725
  • Johannes Van de Water1 b. 13 Sep 1727
NOTE: BC-Families (Van de Water File) has Hendrik as possible son of Albertus Van de Water and Petronella Klopper. It has only the first Ann as daughter of Elizabeth; the rest (and more is assigned to Anna Skillman, younger sister of Elisabeth, except Johanna, David and Johannes, who are listed as the children of Hendrick and Susanna Ketelhuyn. Van de Water File had three marriages for Hendrik Van de Water Jr., but the two Hendricks cannot be the same as the baptisms run concurrently; thus the Hendricks have been separated. The marriage with Anna Stallman could be the same as Anna Skillman (but the children have not yet been re-assigned) Hendrick Van de Water could possibly be a son of Johannis Van de Water.1,3,4
