Mary Blair Kerr died on 2 September 1912 at 290 High Street, Pawtucket, Providence County, RI, at her home (of apoplexy, according to the Rhode Island Statuatory Death Record of 1912, Page 128.) She was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Pawtucket.

     Mary was the second of six children born to Robert Henderson Kerr and Jeannie Ross McMillan. Mary and the four boys sailed to America on the 'PHOENICIAN' and arrived in Philadelphia 28 September 1888. This was a year and almost four months after her husband, George immigrated to America.

     Robert Henderson Kerr was born in 1810 at Ireland. He married Jeannie Ross McMillan, daughter of Angus McMillan and Agnes Blair, on 1 April 1845 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Robert Henderson Kerr died on 8 July 1879 at Maryhill, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was buried in Bearsden in New Kilpatrick.

     At the birth of his twins, Agnes and Martha, on 11 Nov 1856, he is listed as a Staff Sergeant in the Ayrshire Rifle Militia. In later years he was a weaver and at the time of his death he was listed as a Chelsea Pensioner.
The twins and the second Agnes are born in Ayr, James in Renfew, and Duncan in Barony. According to the death certificate Robert died at 8:50 PM at 271 Gairbraid Street, Maryhill, at the age of 69 years. He died from disease of the heart after 3 days, as certified by William McDonald. The informant was his son, Robert Kerr, at 243 Gairbraid Street, Maryhill, Registrar, John Russell.
