     Michael Tades was from Nordfriesland, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, (from Witswort, acc. to banns; from Eiderstedt, acc. to Tades) acc. to his marriage certificate.^2,3 He (1) married Annetje Eduwarts circa 1649.^3,4 (Banns on 18 November 1649 at Amsterdam, Albany County, NY. He was 25 y.o, from Witswort; she 29, from Amsterdam.)^4,2 Michael Tades (2) married Tryntje Jacobs on 8 June 1668 at Bergen, NJ, (DRC.)^5,6,7,8 (Banns on 17 May 1668. Machiel Tades (widower) and Treyntje Jacobs (widow).      Jannetje Taelman was baptized on 5 February 1662 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Jan Corneliszen de Ryck and Marritje Gerrits; father Douwen Hermanszen, mother Dirckje Theunis.)^1,2 She was buried on 26 October 1666 in the DRC Cemetery, at Bergen as "child of Douwe Hermensen."^1,3

     Veronika Tafelmeier was born on 5 February 1834 at Lauterbach, Bavaria, Germany.¹ She married Anton Kneissl, son of Raimund Kneissl and Regina Zobinger, circa 1854 (in Lauterbach?)¹ Veronika Tafelmeier died on 24 December 1864 at Schrobenhausen, Bavaria, Germany.¹

     Lillian Taft was born on 4 April 1890 at Webster, MA.¹ She married Henry Buschman Vreeland Jr., son of Henry Bauschmann Vreeland and Nellie Bertha West, on 27 June 1917 at Garfield, NJ, (First Presbyterian Church.)¹ Lillian Taft died on 20 July 1977.¹

     Margaret Tait was born on 26 August 1792 at Tweedmouth, Northumberland, England.^1,3,2 She was baptized on 2 September 1792 at Tweedmouth ^4.1 She married George Short.^1,3,2 Margaret Tait died on 26 January 1877 at Swinton, Berwickshire, Scotland, Her son Leonard registered the death.^5,2,3 She was buried in Norham Cemetery in Norham, Their stone in the old Norham churchyard is barely legible.¹

     The 1851 census lists George Short and Margaret at Norham, Northumberland, England, with their children John, William and Margaret. He is 59, a farmer of 13 acres, b in Kirk Newton; wife Margaret, age 59, b in Tweedmouth; son John age 23 road laborer, son William age 26, tailor; Margaret age 16, children all born in Norham. The address was either Birchall or Brickall.⁶ The 1861 census lists George Short and Margaret, with their granddaughter Isabella (b. Ford?). He is 67, turnpike laborer, b Newton; Margaret, wife age 68 b Tweedmouth.⁷ The 1871 census lists George Short and Margaret at Swinton, Northumberland, England.⁸
     The Extract of an entry in a Register of Deaths lists Margaret SHORT, widow of George SHORT, as the daughter of TAIT, miller deceased. The 1851 census lists her birthplace as Tweedmouth. A family note on John SHORT's death notice lists her age of death as 86 years. Her death certificate lists her age at death as 85 years at the time of her death 26 Jan 1877, which would place her birth in Tweedmouth in 1792. A list of baptisms in Berwick lists 'Margaret TAIT,' daughter of John TAIT and Mary his wife, was born in Tweedmouth 26 Aug and baptized by the Rev. Alex Waugh of Wells Street, London, 2 Sep 1792.      The baptism of son Leonard SHORT (film 0825357 #4) lists his father as George SHORT and Margaret his wife, of Tiremereston Parish of Tweedmouth, born 16th and baptized 30th May 1815.
     There was a question as to whether the family name was TAIT OR WAIT. However, in two places on the death cert. in 1877 lists her last name as TAIT. On her husband's (George Short) death certificate, the name is given as Margaret Tait.
     There is also a baptism of a James TAIT, son of John TAIT, carpenter of Tweedmouth and Mary his wife, baptised at the meeting house Golden Square 24 Oct 1784. Also a listing of George TAIT, son of John TAIT, carpenter in Tweedmouth and Mary his wife May 8, 1787. Also James, George and Margaret TAIT are listed in the computer printout Golden Square Presbyterian or Scotch Church, Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland, England, births or christenings 1771 - 1837 Batch C 8038-1 page 138.
     From Kirknewton, Northumberland Bishops Transcripts of Parish Registers 1762 - 1788 is a listing of a marriage of John TAIT, Tweedmouth and Mary Bradford of this Parish 21 Nov 1783.¹ Married name: Short.

     Belitje Tallman was born on 21 February 1752.¹ She was baptized on 8 March 1752 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)¹ She (1) married Hendrick Demarest, son of Samuel Demarest and Margaret Brinkerhoff.^2,3 Belitje Tallman (2) married Peter Cole on 1 June 1828 at New Prospect, Ulster County, NY.³

     Belitje Tallman and Hendrick had a daughter Margrietje, b. 6 Aug 1773, bp. 29 Aug 1773 (Schr. p.174).³ Married name: Demarest. Married name: Cole.

     Brechie Taelman was born in December 1708.¹ She was baptized on 12 January 1709 at Tappan, NY, (DRC) (sp. Kornelis Kuyper and Aeltje Bogaert, his wife; father Teunis Douwese Talema, mother Brecchie Haring.)^1,3,4 She died before 1710.

     Jan, Harmen and Brechie were triplets, but this not indicated in Cole.^5,6

     Brechie Taelman was born on 6 July 1710.¹ She was baptized on 10 October 1710 at Tappan, NY, (DRC) (sp. Douwe Harmense Talema and Brechie Haring; father Teunis Talema, mother Margrietie Hogenkamp.)^1,3,4

     Cathalyntye Talman was born in 1754.¹ She married Benjamin Blackledge, son of Philip Blackledge and Willemtje Sluis, on 20 May 1770. Cathalyntye Talman died in 1836.¹

     Catlyntie Taelman was born on 24 July 1724.¹ She was baptized on 23 August 1724 maybe in Hackensack.¹ She married Peter Westervelt, son of Johannes Westervelt and Efie De Groot.^2,3

     Catlyntie Taelman and Peter had one more son: Roelof (died in the Revolution); Konight does not have Maria.^3,4 Married name: Westervelt.

     Catrina Tallman married Johannes Blauvelt, son of Petrus Blauvelt and Marey Blauvelt.¹

     Dianna Tallman was born on 11 September 1747.¹ She was baptized at Schraalenburgh, Bergen County, NJ, (DRC.)¹ She married Benjamin Westervelt, son of Jan B Westervelt and Marytje J Durie, circa 1769.¹

     Douwe Harmanse Taelman was the first sheriff of Rockland County who also served in the Revolutionary War.^1,2
