     The Vernooy family came from the province of Utrecht and Gelderland along the rivers Rhine and Waal.
     Cornelis and Annetje arrived on the ship 'De Trouw' (Faith) on 20 Jan 1664 (Corneliss Cornelissen Vernoey, and wife and infant, HSYB 1896 p.158) They settled in Kingston and later bought land in Wawarsing. They erected a grist mill there from parts they brought from Holland.
     In Feb (yr unclear) Adrian Fournoi, from Valenciennes came also on the Faith (HSYB 1896, p.143), but seems unlikely to be related.2,4,3 Name variation: Cornelius Cornelisse Vernoy.5
