     Margaret Jane Steele was born on 31 January 1845 at Cooper, MO.¹ She married William Jasper Smith, son of William Jasper Smith and Elizabeth Hedrick, on 15 December 1864 at Cooper, MO.¹ Margaret Jane Steele died between 8 June 1890 and 1891 at Barry, MO.¹

     Jacob Steendam was born in 1615.¹ He married Sara Abrahamsz.¹ (Banns on 13 November 1649 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was Jacob Jacobsz Steendam, 34 yrs old, from Campen (?); she Sara Abrahamsz, 22 yrs old, from Amsterdam; her witnesses were her father Abraham Fransse and Angenietje Fransse.)¹

     Jacob Steendam and Sara had two children bp. in Amsterdam. They must have come to New Netherland in 1652 (Sara is a sponsor in Dec); they have three children bp. NYDC, and then go back to Amsterdam, and have two more children bp. there:

He was Cornelis Steenwyck, from Haerlem; she Margareta Riemers, from Amsterdam.)³

It was a joint will, and lists his sister Jannetie, wife of Jan Van Gooten, liv. in Harlem in Holland; his half-brother on mother's side Jacob Maurits; his half-sister on mother's side Annetie Maurits, wid. of Ds. Wilhelminus Van Nieuwenhuysen, both liv. in NY.⁵
     It is interesting to note that Jannetje Steenwijck (Cornelis' sister per his will) is listed as sponsor for Jacobus Maurits in 1688, and her husband Jan Van Goting as sponsor for Aegidius van Nieuwenhuyzen in 1675; but in 1684, when Cornelis makes his will, they are living in Haarlem in the Netherlands. Did they travel back and forth, or are they listed but not present?⁸

     Susanne Stefan married ? Hermerka.¹

     She spoke German, and read the Katzenjammer kids comics in German to her grandchildren.¹ Her parents were Josef Stefan and Anna Klein.¹ Married name: Hermerka.

     Katharina Steger was born in 1773 at Bavaria, Germany.¹ She married Alois Raymund Hofstetter.¹ Katharina Steger died on 3 September 1850 at Haldenwang, Bavaria, Germany.¹

     Henry F Stegmann was born on 16 April 1889 at New York.^3,4 He married Minnie Van Olst, daughter of Richard Van Olst and Elizabeth Troost, in 1918.⁴ Henry F Stegmann died on 30 August 1930.^1,2,5 He was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack, Plot 268.^1,2

     Henry F Stegmann was a corporal in the Quartermaster's Corps during World War I.^1,2,5,3 The 1920 census lists Henry Stigman and Minnie at 61 Grove Street at Hackensack, NJ, with a boarder Jacob Van Olst (35, b. NJ. parents b. Holland, driver, moving van.)⁶ The 1930 census lists Henry F Stegman and Minnie at 24 Emerald Street at Hackensack (Ward 5), NJ, with their daughter Elizabeth E (9, b. NJ), and his brother-in-law Jacob Van Olst (45, b. NJ, parents b. Holland, helper, express company). Henry is 42, b. NY, parents b. Germany, driver, del. company); Minnie is 41, b. NJ, parents b. Holland. They were married 12 years.⁴
     The headstone application was signed by Peter E Hecker, who was living at 63 Krone Place, Hackensack, NJ.⁵

     Babette Stegmeier was born in 1903.¹

     She was named after her paternal grandmother.¹

     Francisca (Sr. Irmina) Stegmeier was born on 3 October 1910 at Schrobenhausen.¹ She died on 11 April 1997 at Neuburg a/d Donau, Germany.¹ She was buried in Neuburg.¹

     Sr. Irmina was sponsored in her Confirmation by Anna Kneissl Hofstetter and always remembered by her. Part of a very large family, she entered the convent in Aug. 1938 and was the convent gardener. A very pleasant lady, she was delighted when in 1981 and 89 we visited her in the convent.¹ Name variation: Sister Irmina Stegmeir ((on death notice.)¹)

     Lene (Sr. Aedigna) Stegmeier was born in 1909.¹ She died in 1986.¹

     Marie Stegmeier was born in 1902.¹ She married ? Bruecklmayr, He was a farmer.¹

     Peter Stegmeier was born in 1913.¹ He died in 1944 at Russia.¹

     Wally Stegmeier was born on 23 November 1897 at Grimoldshausen.¹ She married George Klebel on 30 July 1927.¹ Wally Stegmeier died on 19 August 1977 at Schrobenhausen.¹

     Wally was raised on a farm in Grimoldshausen. In 1919, when she was 22, during a revolution which followed WWI in Bavaria, she rode her bicycle from Maisach to Furstenfeldbruck. There she lived with the Kneissls (her cousin Johann and his wife Ottilie) and learned cooking at the Metzgerei, from 1919 to 1922? She was known for her meat cookery - roasts, etc.
     On 31 Oct 1926, Ottilie Kneissl, wrote the following letter of recommendation "Wally Stegmeier of Grimoldshausen, has uninterruptedly since 1 April 1923 been employed in my house and business. During this time she has been capable and dependable." She was cooking for the Elwanger family in Schrobenhausen when she was introduced to the recent widower, George Klebel, who had 2 young children, and married him 6 weeks later.¹ Married name: Klebel.

     Xaver Stegmeier was born in 1896.¹

     Xaver Stegmeier worked for Johann Baptist Kneissl II, Metzgermeister (a master butcher) for awhile.¹

     Anna Stegmeir was born on 26 November 1907 at Grimoldshausen, Bavaria, Germany.¹ She died on 25 November 1988 at Grimolzhausen, Bavaria, Germany.¹

     Teresia Stegmier was born on 14 August 1905 at Grimolzhausen, Bavaria, Germany.² She died on 13 December 1988 at Schrobenhausen, Bavaria, Germany.²

     She was named after her mother's stepmother.¹

     Arthur James Stein Jr. was born on 10 August 1928 at Fort Wayne, IN.^1,2 He married Lela DeWitt on 16 October 1948 at Fort Wayne, IN.^1,2 (license on 2 October 1948.)² Arthur James Stein Jr. died on 4 August 2015 at Fort Wayne, IN.³

     His parents were Arthur James Stein and Helen Beatrice Hout.²

     Richard Steinecke immigrated in 1909. He was naturalized before 1930.³ The 1930 census lists Richard Steinecke and Gerarda at 71 Aquaduct Ave at Midland Park, Bergen County, NJ.³ The 1940 census lists Richard Steinecke and Gerarda at 316 Godwin Ave at Midland Park, Bergen County, NJ.⁴
     He registered for the WW2 draft in 1842. He was living at 316 Godwin Ave in Midland Park, NJ at the time.² Name variation: Richard Otto Steinecke.²

     Mary (Marie) Steininger was born circa October 1864 at New York, NY.¹ She married Gustave August Kohlheim, son of Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Kohlheim and Bertha Ditzel Bier, circa 1880.¹ Mary (Marie) Steininger died on 22 August 1907 at Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ.¹

     Susannah C Steinle was born on 3 May 1838 (30 at marriage.)^1,2 She married John Henry Banta, son of Theunis Banta and Rachel Benson, on 16 January 1869 at Hackensack (New Barbadoes), Bergen County, NJ.^2,3,1 Susannah C Steinle died on 18 November 1925.¹

     Susannah C Steinle and John had three more children, who died young.^1,4,5 Her father was Frederick Stienle.² Married name: Banta.

     Abraham Stymets was baptized on 19 February 1724 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)² He married Rachel Van Tassel, daughter of Hendrick Van Tassel and Beeltje Buys.¹
