After one uear's service he was brevetted second lieutenant in the 8th Kentucky Cavalry, CSA. In 1862 he was promoted to captain under John Morgan. He was captured with his commander in Morgan's famous raid through Ohio. Or it could be that the person writing the contract assumed he was 21.3 Married name: Taylor.
