He was Reynier Van Sickelen, of the town of Gravesend in Kings County. Names wife Jannetje; eldest son Ferdinandus; four unnamed younger sons. Executors: his brothers John and Gerritt van Horne. Witnesses: Nicholas Stillwell, Cornelius Buys, and Samuel Gerittse.^2,4

     He may have married Catherine Cornelisz Slingerland, before she married Bartholomeus Vrooman at Schenectady. Billard (extracted from Pearson) has them listed as "Bartholomeus Vrooman, son of Adam; Catharina Slingerland, dau. of Cornelis, wid. of Hendrick Van Slyck, 20 Oct 1738." Pearson has Hendrick as son of Cornelis, son of Jacques Cornelise Van Slyck.^4,5,6

     Hendrik Van Slyck was born on 24 October 1703 at DRC, Schenectady, NY, ((father Cornelis Van Slyck, mother Clara Janse Bratt.)²) He married Catharina Slingerland, daughter of Cornelis Slingerland and Eva Jans Mabie, on 6 June 1729 at Schenectady, NY, (DRC) (son of Cornelis Van Slyck.)^1,3

     Hendrik Van Slyck and Catharina had at least a daughter Clara, b. 1730, who married Johannes J. Vrooman.²
