Witnesses: Gabriel Ellison of Flat Bush, schoolmaster, and Henry Van Beuren.      In the Orphan masters records, there are five children, and Matthys and Adolf are listed as two children; but at baptism he is listed as Mattheus Abbertus, and no indication of twins.      Mattias Hopper was baptized on 6 April 1713 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC) (sponsors: Mattis Hoppe and Lea Hoppe.)² He married Elisabeth Wright on 3 June 1744 at New York City (DRC.)^1,3,4

He was Matthew Hopper, of the Out Ward of New York, farmer, being sick and weak. Names wife Elizabeth Hopper; sons John (eldest), Matthew, and William.
