     Hendrik Winter was born on 5 April 1756.3,2 He was baptized on 18 May 1756 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)3 He married Lettice.1 Hendrik Winter died on 4 January 1837.3 He was buried in DRC Cemetery in Wyckoff.3

     He purchased with Adolph Carlough on 27 January 1787 lot #41, 200 acres, in the Ramapo Tract. This land is in Northern Wyckoff, NJ.3
     His lands at Wyckoff 100 acres (subdivided in half) appear on the Tax Ratables of Franklin in July 1791, July 1792, 1794, 1795, 1796, 1797, and Jun 1802 were 70 farmable acres and 30 non-farmable. From Jul 1813 he appears on the taxlist with 67 acres, apparently he gave 40 acres to his son Henry.
     The general area of his lands was south of Hohokus Brook, north of Franklin Ave, bounded on the west by Wyckoff Ave, and on the east by Crescent, with Godwin Ave cutting down the center today. He lived on his farm on the north side of Franklin Ave.3 The 1793 census lists Hendrik Winter at Franklin Township, Bergen County, NJ.3
     In 1779 he owned 20 acres land by his brother Peter, in Rivervale, NJ. He seems to have moved in with his eldest brother William in Campgaw c. 1777 (William was captured on 19 Dec 1776.3 He was He was a blacksmith by trade; he left his tools (bellows and anvil) to his son Henry in his will.3 He made a will in 1837. He was of Franklin Township, NJ and mentions all his seven sons and five daughters.3 Name variation: Henry Winter.1
